We are out at the Lacombe VFW today. Come by and see us. 9-1
Service is at the heart of a Buddy Check.
Like this Cobb County, Georgia police officer who stopped to help an elderly man who had run out of gas and only had $2.
He pushed the man’s truck to a gas station with his patrol car and then paid for his gas.
That’s a Buddy Check.
A small act of service that changed someone’s day — and maybe his whole life.

Monday is Memorial Day.
This weekend, most people will be celebrating. The end of school, the start of summer, a long weekend with family. That's not wrong.
But it's worth remembering what this day actually is.
Memorial Day honors those who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
Every veteran appreciates a "thank you for your service." But today is not the day to thank veterans.
Today, we remember the fallen.
I had the privilege of serving with some of the greatest Americans this country has ever produced. On Memorial Day, three of them are always on my mind.
DOUG ZEMBIEC--Wrestler at the Naval Academy. Tenacious. Intense. The Marines he led called him the Lion of Fallujah.
MEGAN MCCLUNG--Gymnast at the Naval Academy. A smile and a positive attitude that lit up every room she walked into.
ERIK KRISTENSEN-- Rowed crew at the Naval Academy. Vibrant, gregarious, and a loyal friend. He gave his life to rescue his team.
All three were great people. All three gave everything.
I think about my classmates on Memorial Day, and I hope I'm earning the sacrifice they made. The sacrifice that lets the rest of us enjoy a barbecue, a long weekend, time with the people we love.
So enjoy your weekend. Spend it with family. Fire up the grill.
But take a moment.
Remember what this weekend is for. Remember the ones who didn't come home.

As we come to the close of Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to thank all of the teachers and staff who work hard every day to shape the minds of future generations.
This week, Buddy Check had the honor of delivering cookies to our giveaway winner and sharing a little extra love along the way. What started as a simple giveaway became one more opportunity to encourage the people who show up for students day after day.
At Buddy Check, that is what we love most.
A small gift. A kind gesture. A simple reminder that people are seen and appreciated.
You care for our children as if they are your own. You show up through the ups and downs of your own lives, even when we sometimes forget that you are people too, carrying many of the same burdens the rest of us carry.
You shoulder that responsibility with grace and dignity.
To everyone who participated, commented, shared, and helped us celebrate educators this week, thank you.
A special thank you to Principal Jenny Westcott of Monteleone Jr. High and Assistant Principal Natalie Touzet Bostic of Covington Elementary for allowing us to be part of your week.
From all of us at Buddy Check, thank you for your service to our community. We hope our deliveries gave you a little motivation, brightened your day, and reminded you that what you do matters.
We appreciate you, and we hope you get a well-deserved summer break to rest, recharge, and enjoy time for yourselves.
We see you. 🍪
