Lyme Disease has struck me. I haven’t made pots in some time, but I need to keep creating as much as possible. I’ve never sculpted a bust before and have enjoyed working on this. I am going to try expanding my art as I go through this year of healing. Some days I can and some days I can’t. Heck, some days I can’t even find words or make a sentence come out right, but art is a healer and I will try me best to continue as much as possible.

Friday night’s class was great fun! I always love creating a relationship between students and clay with pinch pots and hand made mugs. To learn more about classes, follow this page and send me an email through my website... crawfishclay.com

It’s been a LONG time since I completed a kiln load of my own work. Being a full time public school art teacher is rewarding, but very time consuming. I’ll be cleaning up the studio this week in preparation to start giving lessons. I’ll be posting the details within the next few weeks.

Things have been really busy around here. I am trying to finish up renovating my commercial building, which is rented to a gal who will be opening “Attic to Awesome.” Maybe one day I will move my teaching studio to this space, but we shall see. As soon as I’m done with her renovations, I can concentrate on getting my personal studio ready for the lessons everyone has been asking me about 🙂 Here is the commercial space so far. I must confess that I am a tad jealous of my own building! LOL

Update: I’ve been working hard to get the studio ready to start giving lessons; hopefully, by this summer! Right now, we are trying to figure out why we are not getting gas to the burners on the big kiln. NEXT UP.... finish installing water to the studio for washing up and a bathroom!

UPDATE! Sorry you all haven't heard from me lately. I accepted a job as a public school K-3 art teacher and moved 80 miles away to Abita Springs, LA and started a new adventure. My new home was built in 1885 and has an adorable little pottery building! Life is great, but my new studio is not finished yet. I hope to be making pots again soon! Peace
