We are a 501c3 that provides camps, mentoring, and resources for children and youth in foster care. This youth reached out to the community for a simple heater.

HISTORY:

James Samaritan formerly known as James Storehouse was founded by Louisiana native, Kim Winston Bigler. This dynamic, caring mom first learned about the shocking realities of foster care when she received an email at Christmas time in 2011. The email described a foster child, who had spent her whole life in foster care, bouncing from family to family until she turned 18. She aged out of

Every child deserves to be seen, valued, and protected. Whether through fostering, mentoring, volunteering, or simply encouraging a caregiver, each of us has an opportunity to make a difference.

❤️ How have you seen someone stand in the gap for a child recently?

Celebrating the Men Who Show Up

During Universal Father's Week, James Samaritan honors the fathers, foster fathers, adoptive fathers, grandfathers, mentors, and caregivers who choose to make a difference in a child's life.

Some became fathers by birth.
Some became fathers by choice.
Some became fathers by opening their hearts and homes to children who needed safety, guidance, and hope.

At James Samaritan, we see the impact of caring men every day—men who attend school events, help with homework, offer encouragement, teach life skills, and provide the steady support every child deserves.

To every foster dad, kinship caregiver, mentor, volunteer, and father figure: thank you for showing up. Your presence changes lives.

One caring adult can change a child's future.

Happy Universal Father's Week!

Happy Flag Day from James Samaritan 🇺🇸

Today we honor the American flag and the freedoms it represents. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve our community, support foster families, and walk alongside children who need hope, stability, and encouragement.

As we celebrate Flag Day, we are reminded that a strong nation is built through compassion, service, and caring for one another—especially our most vulnerable children.

Thank you to the foster parents, volunteers, donors, and community partners who help make a difference every day. Together, we are creating brighter futures and strengthening families.

"Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." — 1 John 3:18

Wishing you a blessed and meaningful Flag Day.

🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
