Alongside a bevy of community partners, cancer patients, survivors and healthcare providers, the St. Tammany Health Foundation launched its 2026 breast cancer awareness campaign – formally St. Tammany United in Breast Health: The Power of Pink – kicking off a monthlong effort promoting breast cancer awareness, screenings and fundraising.

Congratulations to STHS Adult ICU Nurse Manager Rochelle Giacona, who has been named the recipient of St. Tammany Health System’s Nurse Leadership Daisy Award for 2026. ✨
Rochelle was nominated by a colleague for the honor – three times, by three different colleagues, in fact. Judging was focused on four specific characteristics: problem solving and critical thinking skills; motivation, inspiration and teambuilding skills; a focus on patient-centered and quality outcome; and support for the future of nursing and professional advancement.

🎓 Congratulations to five St. Tammany Health System colleagues who have been selected to receive the St. Tammany Hospital Guild’s Nursing and Allied Health scholarships for fall 2026!
This year’s recipients are:

👏 Hailey Pennington – General Medicine
👏 Noradijah Carson – Clinical Decision Unit
Each recipient will receive a $1,500 scholarship to support their continued medical education.
The all-volunteer St. Tammany Hospital Guild awards scholarships each spring and fall to health system colleagues pursuing opportunities to advance their education and careers.
