SCAM ALERT: If you receive a letter CP53E from the IRS stating that your refund didn't process and you need to provide your banking information - STOP AND READ THIS.

The only way to provide legitimate banking information to the IRS is to go to the IRS.GOV website and create a personal account login. They will never ask you to provide banking information by scanning a QR code, email, fax, phone or mail.
