Happy birthday to Val Kilmer, I was happy to know that when I was designing and sculpting the mask and helmet for Blunt-man, they finally got Val for the role. I know it was hard and uncomfortable wearing the costume and mask but he looked great.

Learning to replace my Autocad for Lightburn for 2d files for laser cutting. Lots to learn on this one, it’s a 2fer, it’s both for 2d design and every aspect of laser cutting. It’s very thorough! Loving it.

I was asked to make a set of drums for Tommy Lee after I made some for Neal Peart from Rush, ( I don’t make the drums DW does, I make the cool stuff around them) but I said no on Tommy’s, they’d have killed him. Drums on long robot arms that explode & fly out over the crowd , spin in space and fly back to him so he could play them in the next beat. Nope! Giant mechanical arms holding actual drums moving very fast in and out of Tommy’s space, basically his crotch. Had to explain why I said no and yell about safety. I’ve lost many jobs by refusing to do unsafe things and I’m good with that. I sleep well knowing no one gets hurt or killed by my designs, creations or Fx

Someone was talking about sir Anthony Hopkins on here, it reminded me of the time I talked to him once in Vegas, I was doing an installation of animatronics I built for the Bellagio Hotel and noticed a couple people being let into our area which was generally not allowed since there was cranes and large equipment there and it’s was the great Mr Hopkins there to see what we were doing and installing. Very nice gentleman and a legend of course.

I got to meet and talk to Michael Jackson when I was working for Stan Winston. It’s was surreal lol, he came for a visit with some kids so I puppeteered some animatronic gorilla heads for them. He was so happy like a kid and very nice, would have loved to build something cool with him.

Just need to replace the brakes from drum to disc and a new master cylinder and she’s out to rule the streets and clear that bay of the shop.
