Life Learning Center - Northern Kentucky
Delivering a holistic, integrated continuum of education & care to those at-risk.
Life Learning Center delivers The Foundations for a Better Life™ 12-week program that focuses on addressing five domains of life: physical, financial, spiritual, emotional, and relational. These on-going barriers often derive from the addiction epidemic, increased incarceration, and childhood poverty rates rising in our local tri-state area. These factors directly hinder an individual’s ability to generate an income for their family, leaving citizens “at-risk” hopeless and unemployable.

On her journey to reentry, Kristin came to Life Learning Center through Sunstone. “It was eye opening,” she said. “I was like wow, these people can really help.”
Coming into the Foundations for a Better Life™ curriculum , Kristin didn’t realize how much she would learn. “Relationships was helpful, setting boundaries and being confident enough to say what she needs and wants.”
Kristin realized she needed a new career path and became certified as a welder, later applying to Iron Workers Local 44. Along the way, she gained job readiness skills, confidence and learned how to build healthy relationships and set boundaries.
Coming in with nothing besides the clothes on her back, Kristin says Life Learning Center gave her the resources, support and stability she needed. “Everyone is so helpful, it’s positive, it’s what it says it’s going to be,” she shared. “If you come here, you will be taken care of. You will find purpose and meaning.”
Her advice to others: “If you come to Life Learning Center from rock bottom, it will definitely take you to the top as fast as possible.”

After experiencing homelessness, Abraham found hope and support through Life Learning Center. Today, he has earned his peer support license and is continuing his journey through the Enzweiler carpentry program while working toward his dream of one day starting his own business.
Abraham says the positivity at LLC made all the difference. “When you get out of rehab, there’s not a lot of positivity,” he shared. “It’s given me hope. It gives you an idea that there’s still life out there.”
He says the program offers incredible resources for a small amount of commitment, and most importantly, reminds people that they are not alone. Abraham has an innovative vision for the future. He has big plans for starting a business that allows him to utilize his background in alternative fuel and his new carpentry credential.
