Report and pictures on culverts provided courtesy of Gene Bischoff: While surveying Lake Ramsey Rd drainage water that enters our Community via Jessica Way, a owner on Cameo inquired what I was doing. After I told him he said the water also backs up and floods them. The problem is from the Huseman Ditch West to Horsebranch. There is at least 5 - 36 inch culverts that send drainage water from north of Lake Ramsey Rd South towards us. But east to west including the culvert under the main entrance on Simpson Way are blockages, collapsed culverts, If during heavy rains the water would be allowed to drain West toward Horsebranch both the small Jessica Way canal and the Huseman Ditch would not have to handle all of that water. Look thru the pictures lst is 3- 36 inch culverts that drain South into the Huseman Ditch. Second is 2- 36 inch culverts that force flood water toward Jessica Way into our Community. I have put in a work order to remedy this, no maintenance gets done on Lake Ramsey Rd West of us. Horsebranch is just as bad, I have a second Work order for it. Like I mentioned before, this is a area problem that will require huge commitment from the Parish our Drainage Committee must force. We have become the overflow for our area. Just think, 3- 36 inch culverts sending water South into the Huseman Ditch meeting all the flooding water from the Beverly Canal East, no relief going East or West around our Community!!!

Pictures of the drainage ditch behind the homes on Jessica Way which have become considerably overgrown. Cleared sections done by homeowners.
The Board has tasked me to locate, identify and evaluate the condition of the culverts and drains in PML. This is being done so work orders can be prepared to have the Parish make the needed repairs. To expedite this process, I am requesting assistance from homeowners throughout PML. If a culvert or drain is situated by you, please list below the type of drainage feature and the street address where they can be found. I've indicated two on Simpson Way as examples.

When hurricane season is over, we need to be thinking about what to do and where with the sandbags. I suggest we designate the pool as the collection point. Next identify an area to use them for erosion control where the problem is most severe and noticeable, such as behind the pool. Create a test location using the bags to prevent the graded, prepared and seeded or sodded materials from washing off the bank into the pond. Evaluate the effectiveness of that approach before deciding to address larger areas,
