CRL’s ecoforestry project is turning 45 this year. Come take a walk in the woods and learn about this forest’s journey from plantation to biodiversity with our current forester, Abel Kloster, and the forester before him, Matt Hall. Come explore what forestry can look like when ecological health and sustainability are prioritized with us this Sunday, June 7th from 1-4. Please register at the link in bio!
The tour will cover the basics of ecological forest stewardship while exploring the mix of upland forest, oak woodlands, meadows, and riparian forest that make up the site. We will also discuss some of the initiatives afoot to make best use of the timber coming from the land both on the property and with our partner projects.
In this week‘s agroforestry video we are along the banks of the Puget Sound learning about river restoration for salmon habitat, forest farming, native species, and how to make it all happen sustainably! Watch it on YouTube via the link in bio.

Come learn about hedgerows with renowned permaculture teacher Jude Hobbs during our first future fundamentals workshop of 2026. Hedgerows are linear plantings of perennials, often trees and natives that play a key role in agroforestry systems.
Why do hedgerows matter? They provide vital wildlife corridors, encourage pollination, protect against erosion, and provide windbreaks for fragile plantings! They’re food, shelter, and nesting places for birds, bees, and small mammals helping to increase and protect the biodiversity of an area.
These workshops are by donation, no donation required! We firmly believe these skills should be accessible 💚🐝🌻 Please register at the link in bio
