A look back on 25 years.

In Kern County, PGPR supported a bilingual coalition of local leaders and statewide advocates working to challenge plans for tens of thousands of new wells and push for a more just, sustainable future.

Through strategic communications, media outreach, and coalition coordination, we helped elevate community voices in a space often dominated by industry. At key public hearings, those voices showed up and outnumbered industry representatives ten to one.

In 2021, the Kern County Superior Court ruling on oil and gas ordinance required the County to halt approvals and address major environmental and public health concerns.

Reflecting back over 25 years.

In 2008, we supported The Leakey Foundation in elevating the Leakey Prize, one of the most prestigious moments in human evolutionary science.

That year, the Foundation honored Drs. Jane Goodall and Toshisada Nishida, two pioneering scientists whose work transformed our understanding of primates and human origins.

Our role focused on amplifying the moment by securing national media coverage across major outlets and bringing wider public attention to the importance of evolutionary science.

Looking back on 25 years of impact.

California’s native salmon, steelhead, and trout are at risk, and so are the ecosystems and communities that depend on them.

From advancing policy solutions to supporting habitat restoration and scientific research, CalTrout continues to lead efforts to protect and restore these iconic species across the state.

We are honored to have helped bring that work into the public eye.

For more than a decade, PGPR supported coalition communications, organized press outreach, and amplified major milestones like the State of Salmonids reports, which earned widespread media coverage across California and beyond.

Contributor: California’s ocean is breaking heat records — but we can control it 06/02/2026

From record heat to harmful algal blooms and declining oxygen levels, California’s coastal waters are under growing stress and our marine life is already feeling the impacts.

The good news is some of the biggest drivers, like nutrient pollution, are solvable. With the right action, we can reduce pressure on our oceans and protect the ecosystems that depend on them.

That’s why California Coastkeeper Alliance is working to raise awareness and push for solutions that safeguard marine life as ocean conditions change.

Read the full story below and learn and how you can support healthier coastal waters.

After 25 years in public interest communications, one lesson stands out: timing is strategy.

We know every story moves in a cycle. Knowing when to step in can determine whether your message lands or gets lost.

Sometimes the moment is when everyone is talking. Other times, it’s when no one is.

The message matters. But when you deliver it matters just as much.

After 25 years in public interest communications, we can tell you that one thing remains constant: people pay attention to the David vs. Goliath fights.

Stories that expose harm, uplift resilience, and center real human impact cut through because they reflect something fundamental. We recognize unfairness, and we want to see it challenged.

For organizations working to protect people or the planet, the question isn’t whether your story is compelling enough. It’s whether you’re telling it clearly, boldly, and truthfully.

That’s where strong communications makes the difference.

Looking back on the last 25 years.

As drought intensified across the West, the California State Water Resources Control Board faced critical decisions about how strongly to advance urban water conservation.

We supported a rapid-response communications campaign to elevate conservation as a key solution for long-term water security, helping ensure decision-makers heard from a broad coalition of voices.

In under a month, we launched a campaign website, coordinated a sign-on letter with 100+ organizations, and secured media coverage across California.
