The Oregon Department of Agriculture, Oregon State University Extension Service, and Oregon Department of Forestry are dedicated to finding solutions to the problems facing pollinators that work for Oregon. Excited to share that Pollinator Partnership will be hosting a symposium at this Fall! P2's Associate Director, Lora Morandin, Ph.D, will be joined by Andony Melathopoulos of Oregon State University where they will be hosting a symposium on Diverse Partnerships for Pollinator Conservation.
When: Tuesday, November 11th from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Where: Entomological Society of America Conference in Portland, Oregon
What: Lora and Andony, along with a suite of conservation professionals, aim to inform attendees about creative partnerships that work across sectors to increase pollinator support in many landscapes. Pollinators are essential for food production and ecosystems, yet they face a multitude of pressures and many populations and species are in decline. This symposium aims to provide valuable insights to effectively collaborating with scientists, companies, government agencies, industries, and nonprofit organizations that are working towards conservation and want to expand partnerships for greater impact for improving pollinator and ecosystem health.

See how OSU Extension and College of Agricultural Sciences - Oregon State University is working in partnership with Oregon wine grape producers, the The Pollinator Partnership and LIVE certification on a new tool to promote bee habitat. The project was funded by USDA Western SARE.

Bee habitat does not have to be expensive, massive, or elaborate. Join us for a Bee Steward Expert Lecture with Susie Peterson to learn the tricks of building habitat in urban settings. Susie is the Program Co-Manager of the Backyard Habitat program, a partnership between the Columbia Land Trust and the Bird Alliance of Oregon.
