Dancing through the earth,
the whirling dervish makes its way,
leaving a trail of dust and debris in its wake.

Its short life burns bright with purpose,
as it carves a path through the wasteland.

Birds shed their feathers in its powerful gusts,
a display of resilience despite its size.

As it nears, prepare for its swift passage,
as it shifts gears and speeds up.

And in the blink of an eye, it vanishes,
but the cycle continues,
as another whirling dervish emerges,
twirling and twisting towards the sky.

Ice Puddles

Anyone else notice the amber-sun & hazy-air? As beautiful as it is, I can’t help but feel like I’m having a bit of PTSD from last September. 😬💨🙏🏼🧡💚

Can you relate? Lately, I’ve had my own body issues, who doesn’t? I know many people joke of the COVID-19, as in, putting on 19lbs because of the pandemic. COVID-isolation, being more sedentary, stress, surgeries, school at home, jobs redefined, making sure loved ones are cared for, surgeries, life changes, and so forth, have effected us all in some fashion.

What I’ve learned regarding current body-image status; be kind to yourself. Your body might’ve gained (or lost) a bazillion pounds, but you are worthy of loving yourself and being loved for who you are today. It’s the only body you’ve been given…care for it, nurture it, and replace negative thoughts with positive ones. With your head held high, rejoice in what it gives you, today.

I met a new little friend, “Woody”, today on my walk. We had fun playing hide & go seek together. ❤️ 🐦 I was fascinated by his beautiful red head & all of the holes 🕳 he precisely put into this tree. I think I just identified him as a Red-breasted Sapsucker. 😊

“Boots & Lace” • • Aren’t these boot socks just to die for!?! I love it when my clients show up to a photo shoot all dolled up! Many times, those extra details go unnoticed in the final edits because the people I’m photographing are the spotlight. I found myself captured in the simple beauty of these boots and adorable lace socks with buttons that I had to snap a pic!! I know this image wasn’t going to be one to make the family photo photo cards, but it brought me joy in capturing it!
