The El Cerrito Public Library opened on October 27, 2004, at the El Cerrito Middle School, the first joint-use library between the Corona-Norco School District and the Riverside County Library System. June 6th is Russian Language Day! In 2010, Russian Language Day was established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization. The date was picked to celebrate Aleksandr Pushkin, who is seen as the father of contemporary Russian literature. Pushkin’s greatest works include ‘The Stone Guest’ and ‘The Bronze Horseman’. His first poem was published when he was only 15 years old.
