If anyone thought the Vet +40 class was slowing down this season, River Glade proved otherwise.

Three rounds into the Atlantic Motocross Series, and this championship battle is becoming one of the most unpredictable stories of the year.

After strong performances at Clyde River MX and Mill Hill MX, 𝗥𝗼𝗯 𝗪𝗵𝘆𝗻𝗼𝘁𝘁 continues to hold the red plate with 101 points. But the margin is as slim as it gets.

Just one point behind sits 𝗝𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗿 with 100 points, proving that every position, every pass, and every moto matters as the season unfolds.

Meanwhile, Catlin Bent continues to quietly keep himself in championship contention. Another podium finish at River Glade moved him to within five points of the lead, keeping the pressure firmly on the riders ahead.

Then came River Glade.

𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘂 𝗟𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲 arrived and immediately grabbed the overall win. 𝗝𝗼𝗲𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 followed with a strong second-place finish, while several riders inside the championship hunt shuffled positions as the points battle tightened even further.

And that's what makes this class so interesting.

Experience matters.
Consistency matters.

But one great weekend can completely change the championship picture.

As the series heads toward Mt. Thom MX on Father's Day weekend, the question remains:

Who leaves with the momentum?

Will Rob Whynott hold onto the top spot?
Can Jean Pothier reclaim control?
Or will another veteran step forward and shake up the standings once again?

As many of you know, I turn 70 years old today. Reaching this milestone has given me an opportunity to reflect on a life and career that have exceeded every expectation I ever had as a young kid growing up on a dairy farm in Las Vegas dreaming about motorcycles and adventure.

I have been incredibly blessed. Motorcycling has taken me around the world, introduced me to extraordinary people, allowed me to work with some of the greatest companies in our industry, and provided experiences I could never have imagined. Most importantly, it has helped me build a wonderful family and lifelong friendships that I treasure every day.

People often ask if turning 70 means I am finally going to retire. The answer is simple: absolutely not! In fact, I feel more energized and excited about the future than ever. There are still goals to achieve, companies to help build, events to host, and opportunities to make a positive impact on the sport and industry that have given me so much, not to mention the people closest to me.

In many ways, I feel like I am just getting started. Stay tuned, because a major announcement is coming soon that will make it clear I have no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
Finally, I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. Your friendship, encouragement, and belief in me have meant the world. Most of all, I want to thank my wife, Kristi, whose love, patience, and unwavering support have made every success possible.

Attached is a photo of me at 5 years old with my Uncle Neil, the Leader of the Thunderbirds. Like the uniform says, I was a Leader then, might as well try to live up to it now. The road ahead looks bright, and I can't wait to see what comes next. See you down the trail.

BTW, you still have time to come join us at the 2026 Yankee Fork Rendezvous!
