French Louis XV Rococo revival fire screen Originally placed in front of an open fireplace hearth during the warmer summer months when the fire was not lit, hiding the empty, sooty interior and providing a decorative focal point in the room. heavily ornamented, asymmetric giltwood frame adorned with characteristic Rococo flourishes, scrollwork feet, floral garlands, and a prominent shell cartouche motif at the crown.

I acquired this beautiful piece recently. Carol visited my store and was overjoyed to discover a piece she had painted numerous years ago! I was delighted to return it to her as a gift.
