A non-profit dedicated to spreading kindness, uplifting communities, and honoring Jorden's legacy.

01/01/2026

As we close out 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what this year made possible.

Because of the generosity and support of this community, we were able to spread kindness, support local families, and honor Jorden’s legacy in meaningful ways throughout the year.

We recently reflected on this year with a Year in Review post (link in comments).

It’s more than just a look back, it’s a reminder that real impact happens when people choose compassion, show up for one another, and carry the light forward together.

As we step into 2026, our commitment remains the same: to continue turning kindness into action and keeping Jorden’s light shining bright.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. 🧡

Here’s to a new year filled with hope, community, and more moments of light. ✨🔦

We just wanted to say thank you to Moon Parks & Recreation for including The Flashlight Foundation in the Moon Holiday Lights drive-through community nights.

We appreciated the opportunity to be part of such a well-run community event, connect with families, and raise funds to support people in need.

We’re also grateful to the generous community members who donated and helped make it possible. 🧡🔦

Happy holidays to everyone, and we hope your season is filled with joy. 🎄

So proud to see The Flashlight Foundation mentioned in this article, and especially proud of Donna, Jorden’s grandmother and one of the foundation’s co-founders.

Donna, your strength and commitment to honoring Jorden’s legacy continues to make a real impact. We’re so proud of you! 🧡🔦

🥶Due to the extreme cold tonight, The Flashlight Foundation will not be attending the Moon Park drive-through event this evening.

As much as we wanted to be there, keeping everyone safe has to come first.

That said… our mission doesn’t stop for the cold weather. 🔦🧡

We are still collecting donations to help us fulfill Christmas wishes, and we are also accepting nominations for individuals or families who could truly use a little extra light this season.

If you know someone who’s been quietly carrying a lot this year (a family, a child, a neighbor) please don’t hesitate to nominate them.

And if you’re able to donate, every single contribution helps us turn hope into something tangible.

Thank you for supporting us, for sharing when you can, and for helping us show up for our community in ways that really matter.

It has been 13 years since the lives of 20 children and six educators were taken in minutes by a gunman armed with a Bushmaster AR-15 rifle and high-capacity magazines at Sandy Hook School in Newtown, Connecticut. Two other people were wounded. Their legacies live on in the enduring movement that has been built over the last 13 years to end gun violence.

The children whose lives were taken that day should have had the opportunity to grow up and pursue their dreams, but our nation’s preventable gun violence crisis robbed them of that chance. The educators who cared for them should be guiding new generations of students, celebrating their milestones, and continuing the work they loved.

Today and every day, we honor them—and the countless other victims and survivors of gun violence—with action. We stand firm in our belief that with collective action and fierce determination, we can and will end gun violence.
