“Can we use a putty matrix during the dental bench test exam?”

👉 The truth is: only a few exams allow it.
So why include a putty matrix in your bench test training if most exams don’t permit it?

Because it’s one of the best tools to sharpen your skills. Especially when practicing alone, putty helps you catch details you might miss otherwise—like clearance or wall direction.

Once you’ve trained your eye with putty, you can step up to the next level of bench test practice without it.

So yes—grab that putty matrix and let it guide your progress during training!

Wrapped up July’s Bench Test course with this solid crew 💪
Three intense days of hands-on training, case reviews, and sharpening the skills that matter.
Everyone showed up ready to work—and left one step closer to the dream of practicing in the U.S.

Next class is right around the corner: August 22–24.

Watching these smiles reminds me why I love what I do. Another incredible group just completed our Bench Test Preparation course, and seeing how far each of you has come fills me with pride. You’ve put in the dedication and effort needed to secure your spot at the university, and now you’re ready for the next big step.

I can already envision the exceptional dentists you’ll become. Keep growing, learning, and shining—your future is brighter than ever!

Congratulations, everyone!

How satisfying is that? Removing old amalgam restorations and replacing them with composite—not just for the obvious aesthetic improvement, but also for the health of your teeth.

Mechanically speaking, amalgam restorations tend to create cracks in the surrounding tooth structure, which can lead to a catastrophic vertical fracture. Composite restorations, on the other hand, bond to the tooth structure, helping to hold everything together. Plus, composite behaves more like natural enamel and dentin when exposed to temperature changes—expanding with heat and contracting with cold—while metal restorations expand and contract much more than the tooth itself. That’s why cracks happen!

My advice? Replace your old amalgam restorations before it’s too late!
