Storm work 6/8/25

This was the last town we visited in North Carolina. My heart absolutely breaks for these people. I wish I could do so much more, they need all of the help and prayers they can get.

We finished a few things up in the town we were in, but had issues moving forward after the "appropriate agencies" or contractors who were there for a money grab showed up. (no comments needed that was just our personal experience) We ended up coming back home last night. We reached out to several people, but could not get a 100% clear path to move forward to a different location.

Things I've noticed along the way:

Volunteers: Yes, they need them and a lot of them now and for months to come. They need people on the ground doing manual labor from clearing debris to cleaning out houses. Most of these people have lost everything, while some may be excited and thankful for the help, others may be stand offish and distraught. Give them their space and try to do anything you can to help. They have been through so much and have a lot to process. ATVS and side by sides, we saw several but we also saw several heading back that had never been unloaded.

Donations: There are so many incredible people bringing donations, please make sure you have a designated place with plenty of room or that they are distributing it as fast as possible. Some places are running out of room and can not take anymore, but there are several small towns still in need.

The biggest thing I have found is to make sure to reach out to local people who are in contact with the areas that need help. We reached out to several well known organizations that lead to a promising dead end. The churches are doing a incredible job at helping out and so are the local Facebook groups. Everywhere we went we pulled from Facebook.

If you are there with a church or volunteer organization, please be patient. These people have homes, jobs, lives and families that they have stepped away from in order to help, but are stepping up to do everything they can. We were in a town where a church and local volunteers were doing an absolute incredible job rolling donations and volunteers in and out like a well oiled machine until the "real help" showed up then it was complete chaos. It's amazing to see how a town and volunteers can come together to make things happen.

Take money: Even though you volunteering and spending money out of your own pocket, the Green County Landfill in Greenville,TN will still charge you to dump debris from a natural disaster. They did lower the tonnage to $20.00 per ton but there are several tons to clean up. Where is our wonderful government to help the people with this? I bet they have plenty of money in Ukraine to cover it. Yes, I am being extremely facetious and no I dont care about your opinion. I was there I dealt with it. Yes, we called every state office possible to rectify this.

If you have called or text and I haven't responded I am so sorry, we were extremely busy and had little cell service most of the time.

My plans are to regroup, reorganize, get my business back in order and then go back. We are still taking donations at 165 East Jackson in Spring City and will make sure they get where needed. If you are one of my customers, I am so sorry, we are now way behind but will do everything possible to get you taken care of, if you need to reach out to someone else, I am sorry but I understand.

I want to personally thank each and every person for the prayers, help and donations. I have met a lot of great people and made several friends along the way. I have the absolute best friends and clients a man could ask for.

These guys all helped us out so please support these small business owners and their business.
