Leadership Conway’s Day of Education on Wednesday was an informative and impactful experience. We had the opportunity to visit Coastal Carolina University and learn more about the university’s academic programs, student opportunities, campus initiatives, and the important role CCU plays in our community.

Our class also toured Horry-Georgetown Technical College Advanced Manufacturing Center, where we were able to see firsthand the innovation and workforce development opportunities being provided to students across our region. Following the tour, we visited HGTC’s Conway campus and learned more about the programs, resources, and educational pathways available to students throughout our community.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to host and speak with our class throughout the day. A special thank you to the HGTC Foundation for providing lunch and for the continued support they give to students and programs at HGTC. We also appreciated hearing from Steve Kipe about the Foundation and concluding the afternoon with a leadership session led by Dr. Kelly Perritt.

It was a valuable day of learning and a great reminder of the impact education has on the future of our community.

The 2026 Leadership Conway Class spent last week in Columbia at the South Carolina State House, getting a firsthand look at how decisions are made that impact our community.

We had the opportunity to meet with Will Frierson (SC Manufacturers and Commerce), Daina Phillips and Erica Wright (SC Municipal Association), Brantt Branham (Coastal Carolina University), and Yvette Rowland (Santee Cooper Government Relations).

We also met with our legislative delegation, including Representatives Tim McGinnis, Jeff Johnson, Representative Carla Schuessler, Kevin Hardee, and Senator Luke Rankin. We were recognized on the House floor and got to hear more about the bills they’re currently working on.

Thank you to HTCincsc - Your Local Internet Provider for providing transportation and helping make the trip possible.

We even had a little time to check out the South Carolina State Museum before heading back.

A great day representing Conway in Columbia!

We’re so saddened to share that one of our Leadership Conway (Class 32) graduates recently lost her home in a house fire, along with her two beloved dogs.

Our hearts are with Sam as she navigates this incredibly difficult time. If you’re able to send support or simply share this post, it would mean a lot. ❤️

Yesterday, our 2025–2026 League President, Samantha Huff, experienced a devastating house fire.

While Sam is thankfully safe, she has suffered heartbreaking loss — including much of her home, urgent personal belongings, and the loss of her two beloved dogs, Finley & Huck. 💔

Right now, immediate financial support is one of the most meaningful ways to help as she begins navigating emergency expenses, temporary essentials, home recovery, and the grief of unimaginable loss.

We know not everyone is in a position to give financially, and support can also look like:
• sharing this post
• sending gift cards for groceries, meals, coffee, Target, Walmart, or Amazon
• helping with cleanup and sorting
• future home replacement needs
• memorial and comfort support as she grieves her dogs

Our League has always believed in the power of women showing up for one another, and today we are asking our wider community to help us do just that.

If you feel moved to support Sam directly, her Venmo handle and GoFundMe links are included below for immediate access to funds.

Please continue holding Sam in your hearts as she begins the long road ahead. 💛

Community. Leadership. Local impact. 💚

We had the pleasure of welcoming the 2026 Leadership Conway class to our Conway Main Street location! From behind-the-scenes insights into community banking to a tour of our Administration Building, this group got a firsthand look at how local banking supports local growth.

The visit wrapped up with a “Lunch & Learn,” where participants heard from our CEO, David Anderson, on leadership, community commitment, and what it means to serve right here at home.

We’re especially proud to see our very own Jaclyn Bost, Loan Officer at our Conway Church Street branch, and Jay Wright, Electronic Banking Specialist from our Electronic Banking department, actively involved in Leadership Conway—representing Anderson Brothers Bank and investing in the future of our community.

At Anderson Brothers Bank, we believe strong communities are built through connection, education, and opportunity—and we’re proud to be part of that journey.

We’re grateful to Leadership Conway for spending the day with us.

Session Three of Leadership Conway gave participants an up-close look at the people, places, and stories that shape our city.

The day began with a walking tour of Downtown Conway led by Conway Downtown Alive, highlighting the history and revitalization efforts that make our downtown unique.

Next, the class visited Anderson Brothers Bank, touring both the Main Street branch and Administration Building for a behind-the-scenes look at the bank’s operations. The morning concluded with a lunch & learn featuring David Anderson, CEO of ABB, who shared valuable leadership insights and lessons from his experience guiding the bank and supporting the community.

In the afternoon, the group stepped back in time with visits to the Horry County Museum and the LW Paul Living History Farm. From local artifacts and exhibits to a hands-on look at farm life in the early 1900s, the class gained a deeper appreciation for the history that has shaped Horry County.

A huge thank you to Conway Alive, Anderson Brothers Bank, Horry County Museum, and L.W. Paul Living History Farm for hosting and making today’s session so memorable!

From infrastructure to wellness, Session 2 highlighted the many moving parts that work together to keep our community strong — and the leadership required to sustain it.

We kicked off the morning with Grand Strand Water & Sewer Authority at their Bucksport Wastewater and Sewer Water Plants. We gained firsthand insight into the complex infrastructure that supports our homes, businesses, and future growth. Understanding the scope and advanced systems behind these operations gave the class a deeper appreciation for the work happening behind the scenes.

A big thank you to G3 Engineering for sponsoring lunch and Elite BBQ Smokers for delivering a fantastic meal that kept our leaders energized and connected.

We wrapped up the day with an impactful tour of Shoreline Behavioral Health, learning more about the vital behavioral health and substance use services available in our community. The conversation reinforced how critical access to care is in building a resilient, thriving Conway.

We kicked off Session 1 of Leadership Conway with energy and enthusiasm! Our group started the day building connections and gaining valuable insights into leadership and what it really looks like to lead with purpose and intention.

Thank you to Palmetto Goodwill for providing a delicious lunch that kept us fueled for an engaging afternoon! We also want to thank Horry-Georgetown Technical College for allowing us to use one of their classrooms!

After lunch, we jumped into the beginning stages of our group projects by hosting a Non-Profit Expo, where each team had the opportunity to learn about local non-profits and explore how they can support positive change in our community.

We’re so excited about the ideas forming, the partnerships beginning, and the impact this class will make throughout the year. Stay tuned for more Leadership Conway updates! 🙌
