What could be more fun than feeding tortoises on a beautiful day outside?
All of our tortoises are friendly, and they have learned that people usually have snacks for them.
Tortoises can see color just like us, and they love anything that is bright red, orange, or yellow!

Axolotl Snaxalotl!
Even though they look sweet and friendly, axolotls are actually carnivores. They eat all kinds of aquatic invertebrates, fish, and even other amphibians. If they are in crowded conditions, baby axolotls will even snack on their siblings arms and legs!
Not a big deal though, they can regrow lost limbs!

Eating your greens is important for all of us, but especially for our lizards and tortoises! All of our plant-eating reptiles get plenty of collard, mustard, and turnip greens, along with occasional treats grown here at the zoo, like squash flowers, hibiscus, and nasturtium blossoms.
They don’t seem to enjoy ranch dressing though.
