Trust takes time, and so does a solid septic design.
At Environmental Resources, we believe in getting it right the first time, even if that means spending a little extra time on the details. Every setback, property improvement and future construction idea has to work together to meet State and County regulations...and to keep your property running smoothly for years to come.
Weโd rather be thorough than fast, honest than easy, and prepared instead of surprised.
Because when nature calls, you donโt want just anyone answering. ๐ฟ๐ฉ

Weโre not in the business of sugar-coating. ๐ฌ
At Environmental Resources, we give our clients the full picture up front, because knowing what to expect beats being caught off guard every time.
Sometimes a system won't fit.
Sometimes floodplain regulations cost extra.
Sometimes additional permits are required.
Sometimes neighboring water well are in the way.
Weโd rather you know the possibilities now than get blindsided later.
Thatโs how weโve done it for 20+ years. Honest answers, no surprises, and no โweโll cross that bridge later.โ

๐ Real talk. Real design. Real results.
When it comes to septic systems, โ๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐จ๐๐ฏ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐จ ๐๐ก๐กโ couldnโt be further from the truth.
It is required for every design to fit the property, and that means factoring in things like:
โก๏ธ How many bedrooms your home has (more
bedrooms = more water use)
โก๏ธ The size of the residence
โก๏ธ Extra structures like shops, guest houses, or barns
โก๏ธ Your soil type and available space for disposal
โก๏ธ Water well locations
All of that determines what kind of system you need...aerobic, drip, conventional, or something in between.
Bottom line? Your septic system should fit your life and your land.
We design it that way. ๐ฟ๐ฉ

Not all Texas dirt is created equal! ๐งฑ
Before we can start a design a soil analysis is required โ because your soil type decides what kind of system you can install. This is why a proper site visit is necessary!
Clay holds water, sand drains fast โ the right system keeps treatment balanced and your yard dry.

Think your land is ready for a septic system? Not so fast. ๐
A proper site evaluation does more than evaluate the soil...it can reveal hidden deal-breakers, like:
๐น Hidden water wells, neighbors wells, etc.
Miss a well and youโre looking at delays, redesigns, or a flat-out denial from the county. ๐ฌ
Thatโs why we start with a thorough evaluation โ so there are no surprises when itโs time to design and permit.

Your septic system is full of tiny good guys (aka bacteria) who work hard to break down waste. ๐
But when you overload your system with too much water (endless laundry marathons, back-to-back showers, running every appliance at once) youโre basically flooding their office.
Imagine trying to do your job while someone keeps blasting you with a firehose. ๐ฟ
Thatโs what hydraulic overload feels like to septic bacteria.
The result? Good bacteria get washed away, treatment stops working, and your yard may start smelling like a swamp in the summer ๐พ๐ฉ
๐ Give your system (and its bacteria employees) a chance to keep up: spread out water use, fix leaks, and donโt treat it like Niagara Falls.

๐จ ATTENTION PROPERTY OWNERS/BUILDERS ๐จ
Big changes are coming October 1, 2025 โฌ๏ธ
๐น๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ด๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐: New Flood Plain Regulations have been adopted. Starting Oct 1, ANY property improvement may need a permit โ fences, driveways, patios, decks, and moreโฆ especially if youโre within 100 feet of a flood zone. You can thank growth for this one!
๐น๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐๐: Permit fees are changing. New rates go into effect Oct 1.
๐ Translation: more red tape, more paperwork.
๐ Good news: thatโs our specialty.
Let us handle the permitting stress so you donโt have to. ๐ฟ๐ฉ

Did you know...
..there is a minimum property size if you have septic?
Its true! โ
๏ธ
In Texas the minimum property size is different depending on if you have publicly supplied water or private water (water well) on your property with a septic system. The only exception is if your property was subdivided before January 1, 1988.๐
โ ๏ธ Double check your county before you buy or subdivide, because counties are allowed to be more strict than the the State minimum requires!

You wouldn't buy a car without checking the Car Fax would you? ๐๐จ
Then donโt buy a house with a septic system without a compliance review.
A quick look can reveal whether the system matches the approved septic design or if youโre inheriting a money pit.
Weโre Who Nature Calls โ before you sign on the dotted line.

Thinking about making changes to your property? ๐ง
Hereโs something most homeowners (and even some builders) donโt realize:
๐ ๐๐ก๐ฌ alteration to a septic system in Texas requires a new design AND a new permit.
That means:
Moving spray heads ๐ฟ
Expanding your living area square footage ๐
Adding a pool ๐
Adding a shed ๐
All of these = new septic design + permits
Why? Because your septic system is sized and approved for your original setup. Change the home โ change the system.
Let us handle all the red tape, and trust usโredoing it right the first time saves time, money, and headaches down the road.

Letโs clear this up once and for allโฆ ๐ง
๐ Aerobic doesnโt mean โspray system.โ
๐ Aerobic doesnโt mean โdrip system.โ
๐ Aerobic refers to the treatment process inside the tank.
An aerobic system uses oxygen + bacteria to break down wastewater (think of it like your yardโs mini treatment plant ๐ฟ๐ง).
From there, the treated water is disposed of through:
Spray heads ๐ฟ OR
Drip lines ๐ฑ
So whether your system is a spray or drip...itโs still aerobic. Itโs all about the treatment, not the disposal.
After years of designing these systems in Texas, yes, we still hear โI thought drip wasnโt aerobic.โ Youโre not alone. ๐
