This Memorial Day weekend and holiday, let’s make great memories and not tragedies.
Plan ahead and use a designated driver, ride share or other means to ensure you aren’t behind the wheel after drinking. It’s alarming how many normal people like you and I think they are okay to drive when truly they are not after having just little alcohol.

This week's edition of the FEATURED FELONS.
Remember- keep yourself anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers. Do not attempt to investigate or capture fugitives yourself!

CELEBRATE RESPONSIBLY THIS CINCO DE MAYO
Cinco de Mayo is a time for celebration, culture, and community, but it’s also one of the most dangerous times on our roads. Before you raise a glass, Multi-County Crime Stoppers urges you to make a plan.
The stats don't lie, and they are heartbreaking:
1 in 3: Historically, nearly one-third of all traffic fatalities on May 5th involve a drunk driver.
Preventable Deaths: In recent years, Cinco de Mayo has seen as many as 47 alcohol-related deaths in a single day across the U.S. 11,904 people died in 2024 in alcohol impaired driving deaths.
Peak Danger: The period between 6:00 PM on May 5th and 6:00 AM on May 6th is statistically one of the deadliest windows for alcohol-impaired crashes.
Zero Tolerance: Law enforcement will be out in full force. A DUI/DWI doesn't just cost lives—it can cost you over $10,000 in legal fees, fines, and increased insurance.
How to Stay Safe:
Designate Before You Celebrate: Pick a sober driver before the first round of margaritas.
Use Rideshares: Apps like Uber and Lyft are much cheaper than a lawyer.
Host Responsibly: If you’re throwing a party, make sure your guests have a safe way home or a place to sleep.
Report Impaired Drivers: If you see someone weaving or driving dangerously, call 911. You could save a life.
Remember: Buzzed driving is drunk driving. Let’s keep our community safe and ensure everyone makes it home to their families.
