Today, we recognize Juneteenth—a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and the freedom, resilience, and courage of those who fought for justice.
At Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare, we recognize that healing and well-being are deeply connected to our experiences, history, and communities. This Juneteenth, we're honored to share an article written by our Rural Clinic Coordinator, Tiffany Jackson, exploring the connection between Juneteenth and mental health. Her article reflects on how recovery from trauma and mental health challenges can empower individuals to move toward healing, hope, and greater emotional freedom.
We invite you to take a moment to read, learn, and reflect as we honor the significance of this day.

Healing from trauma is not linear, and every journey looks different. During PTSD Awareness Month, we honor the resilience of those living with post-traumatic stress and recognize that healing happens in many different ways from seeking a healthy, safe space to share your experiences, giving back to others, or finding peace through other avenues.
This month, we encourage everyone to practice compassion, understanding, and respect – you never know the journey someone else is on, be kind.
Remember, you are not alone and recovery is possible.
