We are looking for a skilled construction assistant.
Pay: $20-25/hr.
Description: Construction assistants work with superiors to supervise and manage building construction and restoration projects daily. Construction assistants help project managers with general logistics by coordinating workers, recognizing construction project faults, and recommending preventative actions. Also, they curb difficulties, manage costs, order construction materials, and ensure that safety regulations are rigorously adhered to. They collaborate with clients and the project manager to assess project requirements, track workflow, resolve issues and manage expectations. They also assemble and create thorough and well-thought-out costs, quality takeoffs, bid evaluations, and confirm specific information. They must possess physical strength and endurance. Dexterity and hand-eye coordination are also necessary. Apart from this, they must possess strong reading and math skills for general paperwork. They must also possess problem-solving and decision-making sills, be a team player and possess sound knowledge of environmental laws.
Qualifications:
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma
• Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
• Ability to work in all weather
• Be punctual and reliable
• Have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry
Duties:
• Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
• Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary
• Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
• Load or unload construction materials
• Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding
• Remove, fill, or compact earth
• Follow instructions from supervisors
• Assist craft workers
• Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary
• Perform site clean-up
• Perform general tasks outlined by owner/supervisor to move job along related to all aspects of construction trades (framing, siding, window, door work, painting etc…)
