🧛♂️ Theme Lunches at ALC are more than just a meal they’re an opportunity for our members to share their passions, interests, and expertise with friends!
Today, one of our members transformed lunch into a fascinating discussion all about vampires. Complete with a dramatic cape, themed presentation, and plenty of vampire facts, he took the lead in teaching others about a topic he loves.
These member-led lunches help build confidence, public speaking skills, self-expression, and social connections while creating a fun and inclusive space where everyone’s interests are celebrated.
At ALC, we believe every member has something unique to share and today, vampires were on the menu! 🦇❤️

We were proud to welcome Laura Nakamura, current Mayor of Concord, to the Adaptive Learning Center for a special visit recognizing our impact during Autism Awareness Month.
Being acknowledged in this way means a great deal to our community, and we’re grateful to share this moment together.

✨ We’re excited to launch something new at ALC! ✨
Our very first Maker Space Program: One of our first pop-up groups, Resin Art is officially underway and it’s already full of creativity, color, and design. 🎨
Members explored the process of working with resin, from mixing and pouring to designing their own unique pieces using beads, glitter, flowers, and more. Every creation was a reflection of personal style and imagination, making each piece truly one of a kind.
Beyond the art itself, this experience was about trying something new, building confidence, and creating in a supportive, hands-on environment. Watching everyone collaborate, experiment, and take pride in their work was incredible.
This is just the beginning for ALC Maker Space, we can’t wait to see what we create next! 💫

🎣☀️ Today, our Community Connections group headed out to the Emeryville Marina Pier for a fishing trip alongside our Executive Director, Anthony, and it did not disappoint! There’s something special about being by the water, casting a line, and sharing the experience together.
Our members embraced the moment, showing patience, focus, and teamwork as they learned and practiced their fishing skills. The highlight of the day? 🎉 Amy caught a stingray! What an exciting and unforgettable moment that had everyone cheering her on!

Sometimes game night looks a little different… and that’s exactly the point. 🎮✨
At Adaptive Learning Center, game night isn’t just about cards on the table, it’s about connection, choice, and creating space for everyone to be engaged in what they love.
Whether it’s a competitive round of cards, teaming up on a video game, or cheering each other on from across the room, our members are building community, practicing social skills, and having a whole lot of fun along the way.
Different games. Different styles. Same goal: belonging. 💙
