Not really planned but lambs are always fun! 2 healthy 3/4 Icelandic ewe lambs. They will be for sale when weaned.

Baling a little bit of hay today. These were an experimental crop of orchard grass and red top clover. It is absolutely beautiful!

Today I worked on laying out and finishing up our new medicinal and culinary herb beds. The end result was quite pretty! Still a few more to go in but almost done.

A rainy morning on the homestead. Crockpot filled with beans, sourdough discard crackers and a small harvest as I wandered around doing morning chores.

Thanks to Mama B's Homestead we have started our new adventure in raising quail for meat and eggs. 12 chicks and 2 1/2 dozen eggs in the incubator. Looking forward to see how we do.
Another new addition are some baby pigs that will be ready for the freezer this Fall. Busy times!

Busy morning on the homestead! It's going to be a cold rainy weekend so I've got dried beans in the crockpot with home canned pork bone broth and Einkorn sourdough rising. Another batch of pork bone broth simmering for 48 hours and then I'll can it up! The house will smell good today and no cooking this weekend.

Sourdough has been revived after the holidays. No bread yet because I've been too busy making discard crackers!
