This Saturday, August 29, join A More Excellent Way Health Improvement Organization (MEW) for the 14th Annual African American Community Baby Shower, a wonderful day celebrating thriving African American families and connecting parents-to-be with resources and support.

Families can enjoy free education and resources, fresh food, essential baby items, and a health and resource fair connecting them to prenatal care, health and social services, and other community supports.

We'll also be distributing our “new parent kits” filled with information about local resources available to families across Contra Costa County.

This National Breastfeeding Month, we're highlighting the support available through California WIC. Families can connect with peer counselors and lactation experts for breastfeeding information, guidance, and encouragement.
