The table will be set for you.

A few months ago, I learned of a special event and several people recommended I attend. The networking potential was huge and the purpose of the event was a noble fundraiser. A friend of mine was even going to be the Master of Ceremonies.

I really felt like I was supposed to be there, but the cost to attend and the effort to get childcare for the evening seemed out of reach. The week of, I prayed a simple prayer.

“Lord, if you want me there, please make a way.”

The day before the event, I get a message from my friend (the MC). Her husband wasn’t able to go and asked if I’d be willing to be her Plus 1. I very quickly scrambled for childcare and everything smoothly fell into place.

Not only did I get to attend, but I had a FREE ticket and I was seated at the HEAD TABLE!!

If I told you who we were seated with, it’s almost laughable. People who have been mentioned in main stream media. People who have been working alongside the current administration. The ballroom was also filled with people who have more money in their bank accounts than I’ve seen in my lifetime.

Initially, I felt a little out of place. And then I heard the Lord whisper, “I placed you here.”

I stood up a little straighter and took my place at the table. Simply by observing and listening, I gained insight to things going on in our world that are not what you are being led to believe. I won’t go into detail, but it is cause to pray and seek discernment like never before.

There were many other strategic reasons I was there and I’m so grateful I was able to attend.

Several takeaways from this experience were not lost on me and I believe others may need this encouragement:

1. The Lord will set the table for you.
2. You don’t have to push your way into position, just be available.
3. It’s not about your name, wallet size, or title. (My name was never on the guest list. It’s almost as though I was never there.)
4. God is strategic.
5. If He wants you there, He will get you there.

So many have endured such heartache and deep wounds. Sadly, they don’t often have a safe place to share what they’ve experienced and have people willing to listen and understand.

Many women we speak with have been told they should stay with their abusers “for their children” or “because God calls us to forgive.” While these are things to consider in a healthy situation, in an abusive one the woman needs all the support she can get to find safety and security.

Often, when a woman escapes her abuser, she leaves with just the clothes on her back.

We had the idea to bless a Single Mama on Valentine’s Day with some surprise treats and gift cards delivered to her door. One particular Mama was on our heart.

We had no idea of all she was walking through or how much of a blessing this gift bag would be.

We dropped off the bag at her door, texted her to let her know a sweet surprise was waiting for her and told her she was seen and cared for.

Her reply was not at all what we expected.

Not only was she so appreciative of the sweet gesture, but she followed up with how hard of a time she has been having lately and this was just what she needed to put a smile on her face!

Please pray for “T” - we want the Lord to bless her in mighty ways and for her to see His hand in her life like never before!

The people we have been serving are so grateful and overwhelmed by the generosity of strangers.

We will continue to collect funds that will go directly toward individuals and families we identify with specific needs.

The rebuilding process will take a long time. Some areas estimate being without power for several more months (through the cold winter temps) and without water for 8-12months! Anything we can do to make things easier is appreciated.
