My name is Dr. Harmesh Kumar. I am a licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist in California with over 42 years of experience in mental health and healthcare. Since beginning my career in 1983 at the World Health Organization Collaborative Center at PGI Chandigarh, India and after completing my postdoctoral training under Dr. Ruff at UCSF in 1991-1992, I have witnessed firsthand how health insurance systems often impact patient care.

Unfortunately, many healthcare plans prioritize managing patients rather than truly helping them heal. This has made it increasingly difficult for individuals to access the quality care they deserve, especially in the mental health field.

In today’s world, we are also facing a new challenge: the rise of artificial intelligence in healthcare systems. Many people find themselves speaking to machines instead of compassionate human beings, often waiting on hold without getting their questions answered. This can be frustrating and isolating.

After decades in this field, I have decided to take a more personal approach.

I now offer dedicated assisted living services for individuals with dementia, mental illness, and brain injuries in the Dinuba. These services are especially designed for individuals who live alone, feel isolated, or do not have family nearby or families are not able to take care of the needs of these individuals.

Our facilities are unique in California. We provide:

• Fresh organic meals are prepared by our chefs tailored to medical & nutritional needs.
• Focus more on behavioral interventions and judicious use of psychotropic medications as they have more serious side effects.
• A fully trained, on-site team including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, dietitians, podiatrists, and physical, as well as occupational therapists

Our goal is to provide compassionate, culturally familiar, and comprehensive care in a supportive environment.

The elephant in the room

Mental health. The big elephant in the room. Across our country. Here, there, and everywhere. Everybody sees it, yet no one talks about. Even worse-no one does anything about it. Except...Dr. Harmesh Kumar. A man with a plan. A world-renowned psychologist. Ready, willing, and able to take-on the harmful mental health problems that afflict our society. Dr. Kumar--the only candidate for California U.S. Senator with the courage, the know-how, and a plan to battle the big elephant in the room. Our lives are in constant danger-numerous mass killings, the homelessness problem, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and so much more. In the real-world, mental health is biggest issue seen and feared by all. Yet, it is ignored by our country's leaders. It will not go away on its own. It must be dealt with. Auto Workers strike in The United States of America is a lesson and inspiration for workers all over the world. If these auto companies can make the biggest profit of more than $21 billion in the second quarter of 2023. They should be able to share the fruits with their workers. This is what creates real inequalities between the haves and have nots.

Ensuring the government upholds its commitments is paramount. The DACA program stands as a pillar of support, fostering the prosperity of our communities by shielding our friends, neighbors, and colleagues from the specter of deportation.

Regrettably, DACA's fate remains uncertain, teetering on the brink due to ongoing legal challenges. The onus now falls on Congress to take decisive action. Once more, there are efforts from conservative quarters to dismantle DACA, jeopardizing the aspirations of hundreds of thousands of young individuals whose only home is the United States.

Such endeavors are characterized by their cruelty and heartlessness, traits we refuse to tolerate. It is our solemn duty to safeguard the future of Dreamers and provide them with a clear pathway to citizenship.

The constant sword hanging on the heads of the DACA recipients creates so much anxiety, stress, and depression and reduces their productivity. We need to resolve this issue forever. Speaker Kevin McCarthy has expressed his intention to initiate an impeachment inquiry concerning President Biden. It is my contention that such a course of action may potentially consume valuable taxpayer resources and time. He is catering to the small group of militants of the Republican party. Being in the mental health field I know cumulative stress leads to more health problems in people. This will lead to more divisions in our country, cause more frustration and anger in the masses and will not solve our social or environmental problems. In addition, the grounds for impeachment typically necessitate substantive evidence of wrongdoing. In this instance, however, no such evidence has come to light.

Twenty-two years ago, on this fateful day, September 11th, 2001, our lives were irrevocably altered. The echoes of that moment still reverberate through our hearts, and we vow to the innumerable souls we lost, the extraordinary bravery exhibited by our first responders, and the unwavering dedication of our troops who bore tremendous sacrifices.

As we look back on this solemn anniversary, let our commitment to fostering peace, both within our nation and across the globe, remain steadfast. May the memories of 9/11 inspire us to strive tirelessly for a world where love and compassion triumph over hatred and fear.
