Thinking about a private student loan and wondering why they keep asking for a cosigner? 🤔
Here’s the deal:
Most students don’t have much credit history or steady income yet. Lenders want to know the loan will get paid back, so a cosigner (like a parent or guardian) helps “back you up.”
✔️ Increases your chances of getting approved
✔️ Can help you get a lower interest rate
⚠️ But they’re equally responsible if payments are missed
No cosigner? It’s still possible—but you’ll usually need solid credit + income on your own.
