Okay I know I said BlackBerry was my absolute favorite but honey walnut fig is a VERY close second - SO good and I love that it’s sweetened with honey!

Ingredient restock with two silly gooses this morning 🪿 (this is their silly faces 🤪) and we stopped by Gammy’s Jameez this morning and got some big jars of jam for our next Poptart flavor - any guesses 👀

3 out of 4 sourwood bee yards are set up and ready for the flow, with the last one going in tomorrow.
It's hard to complain about days (or nights in this case) spent working when this is the office view. 🐝🍯
Now we wait and hope for a strong sourwood honey crop!
This is my dads business - he makes all of our cutting boards and bread boards you see on our page - these scalloped boards are 😍😍😍 they’re located in Cleveland but I’m always happy to grab orders for any of my customers!
The best way to store your sourdough? Freeze it 🙊
All our loaves are made fresh for you the day you pick up but if you’re not planning to eat it the first couple days or if you just want it to last longer slicing and freezing it is your best option.
Because homemade bread doesn’t have any preservatives in it it’s best to use it within 3-5 days.
BUT not only can freezing it help you keep it fresh longer - it actually can help increase the benefits of the sourdough 🙊
Here’s why:
*sourdough is already lower on the glycemic index but freezing it helps lower its blood sugar impacts even more especially if you toast it afterwards (items that are lower on the glycemic index have a lower impact on your blood sugar spikes and hunger cues)
*the resistant starch in sourdough is what helps give it the prebiotic qualities it has and when you freeze it it restructures the starch and increases that benefit (slowing digestion down, and feed those health gut microbiomes)
*with lowering the glycemic index and increasing the prebiotic qualities these both help increase statiety (help keep you fuller longer) which is important if you are dieting or working to improve your eating habits
The best way to freeze it is to slice it and freeze in either an airtight bag or container, you can place wax or parchment paper in between slices for easy seperation, or proportion it it serving size bags if you have a plan for how you’re going to use it!

Surprise! While we won’t be back at the market until the 27th Gammy’s Jameez will be THIS WEEKEND - so I’m sending her with a few loaves of our best selling mozzarella garlic that we sold out of at the past two markets! Plus some croissant loaves and sea salt crackers that will pair perfectly with any of her delicious jams 😋
There will also be strawberry poptarts available - right now by preorder only- unless preorders don’t fill up, then there will be some up for grabs 😊
