Commerce PD sends a big thank you to Barrow County Sheriff's Office and Jackson County Sheriff's Office for their assistance yesterday in helping our officers to find a missing 12 year old juvenile in our city! BCSO also utilized their K-9 unit, Handler Martinelli and her partner, Bowie, to find the juvenile. We are always thankful to work alongside our neighboring agencies!

As we prepare to open the new Commerce Elementary School in 2027, we are proud to share that our goal of providing a uniformed School Resource Officer at every school has been reached a full year ahead of the school’s opening. This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to keeping every campus safe, secure, and ready as our district continues to grow.

School Resource Officers play an important role in our schools by building positive relationships with students, supporting emergency preparedness efforts, and serving as trusted partners in maintaining secure learning environments. Their daily presence helps create a culture of trust, respect, and safety while providing an added layer of protection for students, staff, and visitors.
