🚧 CHIP SEALING NOTICE – SOUTH COUNTY ROADS 🚧

Stevens County Public Works will tentatively begin chip sealing operations in the South County area starting Wednesday, July 15th. Weather and conditions permitting, crews will complete the roads in the following order:

➡️ Enterprise Road
➡️ Fruitland Valley Road
➡️ Springdale-Hunters Road
➡️ Cemetery Road

The project is expected to take up to two weeks to complete.

Motorists should expect possible delays, reduced speeds, loose gravel, and crews/equipment working in the area. Please slow down, use caution, and follow all posted signs and traffic control directions to help keep our crews and the traveling public safe.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we complete these important roadway improvements.

🚧 OAKSHOT ROAD TEMPORARY CLOSURES ✈️🎆
Heads up, Colville!
To help keep everyone safe during the Colville 4th of July Air Show, Oakshot Road will be temporarily closed at the following times on Saturday, July 4:
🛑 10:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
🛑 4:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
🛑 8:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
These closures are brief but necessary for the safety of pilots, spectators, and the traveling public.
Please plan ahead, expect short delays, and enjoy everything the Colville 4th of July celebration has to offer!

In observance of the 4th of July holiday, the Stevens County Public Works administration office will be closed tomorrow.

Regular operations will resume on Monday July 6th. We appreciate your understanding and wish everyone a safe and happy Independence Day!

Update: After further assessment of the roadway, it has been determined that repairs cannot be safely performed at this time. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an estimated date or time for when Johnson Grade Road will reopen.
Johnson Grade Road will remain closed until further notice.

🚨 ROAD CLOSURE ALERT – JOHNSON GRADE ROAD 🚨

Johnson Grade Road is currently CLOSED to all traffic due to a washout caused by recent conditions.

For the safety of the public and emergency responders, please do not attempt to drive around barricades or through the closure. Crews are assessing the damage and will begin repairs as soon as conditions allow.

Please use an alternate route and allow extra travel time if you normally use Johnson Grade Road.

This full-time position offers the opportunity to serve the public, work both indoors and outdoors, and help keep our community clean, safe, and environmentally responsible.

🚧 TRAFFIC ADVISORY – CEDONIA-ADDY ROAD CLOSURE 🚧

Cedonia-Addy Road remains closed to through traffic between approximately MP 3.23 and MP 5.13 while roadway reconstruction work continues.

Please note: Harvey Creek Road and Locke Road are not designated detour routes.

Motorists should use the following alternate routes:
➡️ Springdale-Hunters Road
➡️ Addy-Gifford Road

Drivers should not expect to be routed through the closure area. Only emergency services may be accommodated through the project limits when necessary and when construction conditions safely allow.

We understand this closure creates inconvenience and appreciate the public’s patience during construction. Please remember that traffic control personnel are implementing project requirements and are not responsible for the closure itself. We ask all motorists to treat workers with courtesy and respect as they work to safely complete these important roadway improvements.

Stevens County Public Works and Shamrock Paving, Inc. continue working to improve traffic control, signage, and communication to help make travel around the project as clear as possible.

🚧 Road Work Notice – Chip Sealing Scheduled 🚧

Stevens County Public Works would like to inform residents that our North Road Crew will begin chip sealing operations on Marble Valley Basin Road starting Monday, June 22.

Work will begin at Naff Road and progress down Marble Valley Basin Road. The project is expected to continue through the end of June and into the beginning of July, weather and road conditions permitting.

During construction, motorists should expect:
🚜 Reduced speeds through work zones
🚧 Loose rock on the roadway
⏳ Brief delays and pilot car traffic when necessary
⚠️ Increased construction equipment and personnel in the area

Please slow down, follow all traffic control signs, and use caution when traveling through the work zone to help keep our crews and the public safe.

🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE – CEDONIA-ADDY ROAD 🚧

Stevens County Public Works would like to inform the public that Cedonia-Addy Road will be CLOSED to all traffic between approximately Milepost 3.23 and Milepost 5.13 beginning June 22, 2026, for a major roadway reconstruction project.

This project includes replacing three existing 30-inch culverts with new 8-foot diameter drainage structures, improving drainage capacity, roadway resiliency, and long-term safety for the traveling public. Due to the size and scope of this work, the roadway must be fully closed during this phase of construction.

📅 Road Closure Begins: June 22, 2026
📅 Tentative Reopening Date: September 4, 2026

Once the culvert work is completed, the roadway is expected to reopen to traffic. However, construction activities will continue as crews complete additional improvements, including:
• Cement Treated Base installation
• Hot Mix Asphalt paving
• Guardrail installation
• Other finishing work

Motorists should continue to expect construction activity and occasional delays after the road reopens.

We understand road closures can be inconvenient and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we make these important infrastructure improvements. Please plan alternate routes and use caution when traveling near the project area.
