Praise God!!!!! I just got a car. No more taking the bus to work. I haven't ever owned my own car. God is so good.
Please pray for my Mom. She just diagnosed with stage 4 renal failure. Trying to make sure i visit her as much as I can while working and raising a family.
Lord, I have been clean and sober for 6 weeks. That's longer than ever before. I have been an addict for over 20 years. I am scared, but I trust The Lord to guide me forward.

Success Story!
Derek came to the Freedom House for the first time in April 2023, for treatment. He left soon after to a place of his own.
It was not long before Derek went back to some of the same habits which sent him spiraling back into homelessness. Again, Derek reached out to the Safehouse Ministries for another attempt at recovery.
Derek came back to the Freedom House in May 2025 with a completely different attitude.
This time he heard the message of hope and he even motivated others to stay on the course! After completing Treatment, it took a very short time for Derek to get a job. He bought a used scooter to get back and forth to work. He put money into personal savings. Another employment opportunity came available for more hours and better pay. He changed jobs correctly without losing a day of pay. As soon as he was able, he moved into a place of his own, now doing life on life's terms and in recovery.
During his stay at the Freedom House Derek tried to help anyone he could. Even when there were bad storm days, Derek went to work.
He is certainly a leader of determination.
We are proud of your perseverance Derek! We do recover!

Praise The Lord!!!!! WOW, my family invited me to join them on vacation this summer. That's the first time I am welcome with them in over 6 years. God is awesome.
Please Lord look at the work we do at SafeHouse Ministries and bless us. We house an average of 176 people every night of the year. Over 65% of them move into their own homes and are homeless no longer.
We are so good with God's money that we are able to house, feed and clothe a person for only 52.63 a month.
Please prayerfully consider adopting a person in one of our shelters for only 52.63 a month.

Brent's story.
My employer, fueled by hard drugs and alcohol, kidnapped me. Paralyzed by paranoia, he assumed that because I was homeless, I must be a thief. He accused me of stealing a watch and brutally beat me with a pistol, knocking out my teeth. Terrified for my life, I made a desperate choice and jumped from the moving truck at 50 mph. The impact shattered my ankle, broke my shoulder, and nearly killed me.
I woke up to a brutal new reality: confined to a wheelchair, heavily dependent on prescribed pain medications, and utterly unable to work the trade I had relied on for years. When my time at the local shelter ran out, I found myself homeless, helpless, and hopeless. Job hunting in a wheelchair while managing severe physical trauma felt impossible. I had no idea how to get my life back on track.
That is when SafeHouse Ministries stepped into the picture. They threw me a lifeline, promising to help me get back into a home of my own, I just needed to find a path back to employment.
I enrolled in job placement services for individuals with disabilities and launched a relentless job search. I applied for over a hundred positions. Interview after interview, employers looked at my injuries and turned me away. But even when the doors kept closing, SafeHouse didn’t give up on me. As the winter cold set in and times grew incredibly dark, knowing I had an endgame kept me pushing forward.
Slowly, the tide began to turn. My body healed enough to allow me to return to work. With the support of SafeHouse and their healthcare partners, I transitioned onto a Suboxone program, successfully breaking the grip of the highly addictive pain medications I had relied on for months.
Without SafeHouse Ministries, I easily could have become another statistic, a lost soul trapped in addiction and homelessness. Instead, because they reached out a helping hand, I have a great apartment, reliable transportation to work and medical appointments, the proper medication I need, and a clear path forward. Most importantly, I have a future where I can bring my baby son home and be the father I was always intended to be.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Meet John 🌟
John’s journey with Safe House Ministries is a powerful reminder of what hope, stability, and perseverance can accomplish.
Before joining our team, John came to us as an individual experiencing homelessness off and on for two years. Through hard work, determination, and a commitment to rebuilding his life, he found stability and quickly stood out for his strong character, reliability, and love for Jesus and others.
For the last 2 years, John has faithfully served as a House Manager at our Men’s Shelter, using his own experiences to encourage and support the men we serve every day. His story is one of transformation and proof that second chances can lead to incredible things.
We are proud to have John as part of the Safe House Ministries team and thank him for his dedication and service!
