We would like to thank the Alpha Gamma Rho, Beta House for their donation!

At Alpha Gamma Rho, we believe in the future of agriculture-and the power of giving back.

On December 13th and 14th we hosted nearly 400 head of cattle and hundreds of families for our annual AGR Holiday Classic charity steer show.

Beyond the banners and buckles, we were able to give back:
- $5,000 to Nationwide Children’s Hospital through
- $5,000 to Ohio AgrAbility
- $730 to support Beta chapter alumnus Coltin Osborne
- $26,000 in payouts to exhibitors

A huge thank you to all exhibitors, sponsors, and volunteers who made this event possible!

We hope you've enjoyed learning about Ohio AgrAbility this week! It's been an incredible year for our outreach efforts.
We had a great time at Farm Science Review, where we connected with many farmers and students. We loved talking with everyone and sharing how AgrAbility services can support farmers and promote independence through agriculture.
Our team also attended 27 inclusive livestock shows at county fairs this year and had the honor of awarding over 700 medals to the amazing exhibitors.
Looking ahead, we're excited to announce that next year marks the 10th anniversary of the Cursive Ohio Charity Bike Adventure! https://www.facebook.com/cursiveohio All proceeds from this event go directly to Ohio AgrAbility. Be sure to follow Cursive Ohio on Facebook for updates and details on how you can get involved.
A huge thank you to everyone who visited with us this year! We can't wait to see you again.

Nearly all physical jobs on farms and agriculture settings need to assess the risk of secondary injury.

Most secondary injuries are the result of over use of the body, poor ergonomic practices and not considering the body’s limitations.

Contact Ohio AgrAbility to have a farm assessment conducted that can address concerns of potential secondary injury.

Kellyn Bango is the proud owner of eight mini horses and two full-sized ones. She has loved horses her entire life. Growing up in 4H with many incredible mentors helped grow her understanding of horses and horsemanship. She even recalls working with quirky or “difficult” horses at her parent's small horse rescue, encouraging her love for horses that others might overlook.

But Kellyn’s journey into carriage driving and horse ownership wasn’t a simple one. It all began when a debilitating disease changed her life and forced her to rethink how she could continue doing what she loved. “I couldn’t ride anymore,” Kellyn reflects. “The disease made it impossible, so I had to find another way to stay connected with horses.”

Kellyn's colleagues and supervisors at Pegasus Farm, the therapeutic equestrian center where she has worked for many years, encouraged her to reach out for support as her disease progressed. Kellyn contacted the Ohio AgrAbility Program for assistance, who then connected her with OOD Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Galen Wade, who arranged for her to upgrade her wheelchair to an Action Trackchair®—a game-changer that allowed Kellyn to get back into the arena and work with her horses in a way that felt both possible and empowering.

Though Kellyn's professional life has changed over the years, she continues to be an integral part of the farm, and she is eager to share her story. “The world needs to see a different perspective on disability—one that’s about possibility, not limitation,” she says.

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities, Ohio’s Vocational Rehabilitation agency, is one of the many partners in the success of the individuals served by Ohio AgrAbility. We help the individuals understand the services they may be eligible for with OOD, support them through the process of seeking services and follow up with them to ensure a successful outcome. Kellyn was able to continue to work at a horse farm giving carriage driving lessons with the help of Ohio AgrAbility and OOD.
