Our lives have been turned upside down this week as we received heavy news that every parent fears. Our sweetest little Tenley girl has been diagnosed with leukemia just a couple weeks short of her third birthday. I really hesitated to share this on this platform but since it will inevitably impact all areas of our lives, including my business, I think itâs important to be vulnerable.
How does this impact my ability to serve you in real estate? One of the appeals of entering this profession was the flexibility it would give me to design my schedule around the most important area of my life, my family. This applies now more than ever but continuing to financially provide for my family is also more important now than ever. While the next few weeks will look like a bit of a step back until we get a better grasp on her treatment, this is a multi-year process and the bottom line is I will still be working. That said, there may be occasions where Iâm utilizing my incredible real estate network to assist in the process.
The only true area where this is going to impact my business is in my physical ability to attend every showing. I likely will be having trusted industry colleagues helping out on occasion to walk you through property tours. This will not change my ability to advise and use my expertise in offering honest property feedback, perfected strategizing, exceptional communication, and all of the intentional effort that I have made building connection within the real estate community to serve my clients on an elite and personal level. You will still get me in all the ways that matter most as to not hinder your experience while simultaneously giving me the ability to be completely present for my child when she needs me the most.
Thank you for your understanding!
My sister-in-law suggested I utilize the CaringBridge platform and set it up for me for those who are interested in following Tenleyâs fight!

Say hello to the newest member of the Goetzke fam, Teddy John! We never did a formal announcement and thought it would be a fun little surprise to anyone who hasnât seen me in person over the last 9 months. With friends and family across the multiple states that have been part of our story as well as clients and friends I donât get to see in person as often, we knew we could get away with surprising at least some of you!
Iâm so happy we were able to share the news with my dad before he passed away and our last memory with him was at our Halloween party where we were able to surprise our neighbors and close local friends with our pregnancy news and gender reveal. He was so proud to be able to tell his friends he was going to be a âBabboâ again and share in that moment. Itâs definitely one Iâll cherish forever.
Itâs hard to believe this is our last time getting to experience the miracle of bringing life into the world and Iâm going to soak in every single second. Being a month away from our first baby turning 12, we are way too aware of how quickly it goes. đ¤Żđ
We went into this birth with a list of names we had narrowed down and wanted to see who he looked like before deciding. When the kids came to visit in the hospital, they were immediately certain that his name should be Teddy which had not been the top runner for the last several months. It was really special to include them into solidifying his name.
Teddyâs middle name, like the others, is a family name: John, after my late Papa. A crazy fact that I learned tonight AFTER naming him was that my Papaâs legal name was actually âTadeuszâ which is Polish and translates to âThaddeusâ of which Teddy is a common nickname! It was a little Godwink that the name was absolutely meant to be.
We love you so much our perfect little man.

I am so happy I got to catch up with this picture perfect fam and capture a proper closing photo since I was out of town when they actually closed! Erryn was referred to me from one of my lifelong friends, , who wanted her and her family in great hands as they navigated a cross-country move and VA loan. Errynâs âboots on the groundâ sister Sheena had done her research and worked hard to find her sister the perfect opportunity to get her back near family. They landed on a huge condo (bigger than many single family homes!) with a stunning view of the woods overlooking the community pool and so much potential. Unfortunately, we had to jump through many hoops getting the unit to pass the VA appraisal and work with a very difficult HOA. We fought the good fight and despite a lot of challenges, we were able to get to the finish line! Iâm so grateful that they put their trust in me to help them navigate purchasing from a different state, but also in fighting for them to get great terms and advocating for them and their VA loan. Congrats and welcome home!

Is there anything better than waking up to the twinkling lights of your flocked tree feeling like youâre inside of a real life snow globe?! I honestly love snow days as long as I donât have to leave my cozy house. Shealeigh had an audition for Frozen Jr. last night and her song was young Anna trying to persuade Elsa to cover the whole place in snow even though sheâs not supposed to. I told her this morning that she must have done a good job because it worked! Haha Are you a fan of snow or could you do without? âď¸

We havenât yet pulled out our ornaments but a dear friend gifted me this beautiful bluebird ornament in honor of my dad. I had to hang it immediately. Iâve been desperately looking for the signs in everything around me since he passed. Tonight, this simple bluebird amongst the imperfectly flocked branches with the warm glow of the lights reflecting back in the window feels symbolic. Almost to remind me that while the light reflecting back may not be physical, it doesnât mean it isnât there. Sometimes the presence you feel isnât something you can touch⌠but you know itâs real and thatâs exactly where his love can be found now too. Who knows? Maybe itâs me desperate for comfort or maybe one day all of the feelings and small moments that I find myself leaning into, now more than ever, will all make even more sense. For now, itâs a small sense of comfort and a pop of color and light in a dark time and for that I am grateful.
