It was a good run, but it has occurred to me that I possess none of the social skills neccisary to be a publisher. I don’t play well with others - my idea of networking is getting a room full of total strangers to find a common bond in hating me - and failed to build any following. I like making books, and the finished product pleased my aesthetic. It’s been a slow slide to surrender, and today I raise the white flag, officially. This isn’t a funeral; more like a resignation letter, a sign on the door saying “perminantly closed - retired to The Poconos” or divorce papers. It seems only fitting that all of the previous needs to be put in writing.

Dear EMP Authors:

Your Royalties this year for 33 sales against 20 returns is Negative 74 dollars.

Please remind your readers that buying a book and then returning it costs you more money than not buying it all all, and because of their "Amazon Hack", you will have to have to sell your ass on the side of the New Jersey Turnpike to pay for it.

I have fallen deep into the pit of directionless commercialism (also known as the great circle jerk of anti networking corner clerk diversity, where I map a network of corner stores, get to know their worker's schedules, and ensure I never buy booze more than twice-a-week from any one individual still possessing a future.... I'm looking to form a network of drunks who can review each others books on Amazon, Barnes & Nobel, and the online retailer of our choices.

I'm way past selling out... the irony of small presses is we have to find a way to get our words out the larger world, and I refuse to put poems on Instagram, or make fu***ng memes, so I guess I'll trade my reviews of your books for mine.

I figure if we can get a solid 10 of us, we can unionize, and make damn sure there are at least a couple positive reviews on the good books out of the deluge
