I started therapy last year & became aware of 2 things: I suffer from severe anxiety & I never learned to grieve. My wife & I went to GriefShare last summer, in attempts to learn how to not internalize & to feel. So, I’m trying….

Met you in the fall of ‘93 at Greater Faith. We’d see each other every year when the 93FM Youth Choir would perform there. Always glad to see each other. I remember being excited when you told me you were going to Cleveland Heights High. Because we both wanted to make music together & we did just that. But I had no clue what a friend you’d become for me. An incredible friend! Truly one of the best & loyal friends I’ve ever had. I’m gonna share a lot of stories at some point. I just gotta get there. These last 2 days have been gut wrenching. We all know the musical genius that we were blessed to witness. Your gift was just that. A gift. But when I think about the kind of friend you were to me & many others…..the tears just fall. I’m gonna miss you so much, dawg. I’m glad I got a chance to tell you that I love you. I’m glad I got to see you smile. I’m glad we got to pray together & tell God thank you for His love, grace & mercy. I’m glad I got to call you friend one last time. My brother. Until we meet again. I’ll see you in the morning..

I’m SO proud of you. I could write a whole book on it. I want you to know that the little girl in slide one is proud of the woman you’ve become. You are her wildest dreams. I am the luckiest man in the world because of you. If I had the chance to start my life over, I wouldn’t change a thing because I wouldn’t risk not having YOU. My partner. My best friend. My love. And my baby mama!!! We love you so big! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY. WE IS FORTAAAAAYYYYY
