"We started with a grant, some hopes and some dreams,” Hosni said. “Now we have two funded scholarship endowments, and we receive support from alumni who care about this program and care about the idea that students in recovery deserve the opportunity to have a safe place on campus to pursue their dreams. Having a substance-use disorder doesn’t mean your life is over. You can reinvent yourself.”

Some of our students enjoyed a short hike at our retreat last weekend, which was a great way to be in community before classes started. We can’t wait to see how our community grows this semester and for all the fun fellowship we have in store!

We will always cheer for scarlet and grey, but sometimes it’s okay to cheer for blue — if it’s the Columbus Blue Jackets hockey team! A group of our students and alumni enjoyed the 90s throwback game against Minnesota Wild this past Saturday.

It is the last day of finals for Autumn semester, but we are still thinking of the incredible community who came out to help us celebrate our graduating students in recovery last week! We were honored to celebrate six graduating students this year, and got to see so many of our alumni.

Some of our CRC students kicked off the holiday season with a trip to the Columbus Zoo for Zoolights. It was a great way to be in community while also being a nice break from finals studying!

Recovery Recap! Every Wednesday we host an All-Recovery Meeting in our CRC chaired by our students. Yesterday's meeting started with a mindful meditation activity before discussing how "feeling boring" can be struggle as a young person new to recovery. What tips would you share with our students?

Happy spooky season from us to you! Having fun in recovery is important so over the weekend CRC students took part in our annual trip to the Lynd’s Fruit Farm corn maze. This year’s theme was Indiana Jones are our students were successful in finding all eight treasures in the 8-acre maze before enjoying a bonfire.

The CRC joined other partners around campus to help students take a break during RECESS yesterday! Each table had an activity to promote play and self-care. Students loved coloring stickers while also learning about celebrities in recovery and the work the CRC does to support recovery at The Ohio State University.
