💥Scrawl 19💥 It may have ended sooner than we wanted, but I can tell you, Scrawl was definitely the place to be this weekend.

Thank you for having me as a painter for this year’s festival. Thank you for your hard work setting up the festival, your attention to detail creating one of the bus’s coolest events, and for taking such great care of us this weekend. I can’t wait to be back soon to finish my painting!

“Freedom to Dream” 📖 by Sarah Summers 🌈

Created for the Short North Arts District’s “Summer Spray” 2025.

This mural, nestled on “The Cap” between N High St. and Park St., illustrates a dreamy scene of a mother reading to a young child, presumably her son, while leaning against a strong oak tree as the sun rises behind them.

Upon being given the theme “Unbridled Freedom”, I was inspired to create a mural that represents the common human urge to provide safety for our families with hope for a brighter future. I hope this mural stimulates conversations that lead to compassion, empathy, and unity among viewers. We can all use our voices to collaborate and creatively solve today’s problems. I truly believe love can inspire us to do monumental acts of courage - even if that act is as simple as reading to your child.

I am absolutely humbled to have been given this platform to share my voice. A huge thank you is due to the Short North Arts District for honoring me with this opportunity. Thank you Rachel and Ariel for all of your dedicated work facilitating this year’s Summer Spray. Thank you to my friends Arris and Briseus for teaching me about spray paint and how to go with the flow despite artistic challenges! I have the biggest thank you to my friends and family for supporting, helping, and cheering me on throughout this crazy summer. I could not have done this without my community. Between moving and starting a new job while finishing this mural, you could say I’m ready for a nap LOL

Lastly, thank you endlessly to the love of my life, Phillip. I could not have done this without your support, photography skills, and muscle carrying my equipment up and down Goodale St. all summer. Thank you

I’ve gotten a tad behind on posting, so here are some shots of my Summer Spray Mural! I will share my last “work in progress” photos of this mural next Wednesday, 9/3/2025. Be sure to check back in for those, as well as the photos of the complete mural coming next Saturday, September 6th! 🤭

It was great to put in some hours after so many weather delays this summer. On this day, I ran into Tootie and her videographer . First and foremost, Tootie’s outfit was the vibe 💯 As we were talking about art, Tootie shared her music video “Foreign” with me - She just so happened to have recorded it in front of my mural “Fearless”, from last year’s 934 Fest!!! If you haven’t seen it yet, you’ve gotta look it up on Youtube! 🔥 Thank you Tootie for capturing my mural in your video. I am so happy that now she gets to live on forever 🥰 Connecting with you guys over art is what makes this crazy ride worth every weather delay! ⛈️🌈

Comment below if you think Tootie should film her next video in front of your mural! 😉

✨🫟🚨New Painting Alert!🚨🫟✨

After months of layering and watching paint dry, I finally presented my beautiful mother with this painting of the bridge at Schiller Park in German Village. 🌳⛲

I chose to paint this scene because I liked the interaction of the human-made park architecture versus the lush, natural beauty of the tree leaves transitioning from summer to autumn. I gifted this to my mom for her office at UMH Properties to symbolize the connection among community members and their homes. Thank you Mom for always believing in me and supporting my dreams. I hope you enjoy your new painting!

This painting was started in Joe Lombardo’s plein-air oil painting class. Thank you Joe for always being a wonderful, inspiring teacher. I can’t wait to come back and take another class one day!

Guess what? 😎🌞🎉

I’m excited to announce I am participating in my first ever Scrawl mural festival!✨🎉

Mark your calendars for September 20th and 21st! I can’t wait to sling some paint in Franklinton🌈

Thank you for this opportunity 💖

I can’t believe it’s almost the end of ! 😭

Thank you Short North Arts District for having me for this year’s Summer Spray. It has been an absolute blast! I feel honored to show on these walls alongside such AMAZING artists! 😭🌈🥰

Here are a couple pics from our August Hops on High gallery opening 📸 The day was so much fun, especially hanging out with Briseus and Haadia as gallery attendants! I treated myself to a fabulous matcha lemonade from Roaming Goat Coffee (my first time!) I also did a little shopping...🙈 I found a Calvin Klein denim skirt from Quintessential Style, a yummy chili crisp from Bocado Flavor Co. & some stickers from InkedStar and Destiny Ryan (a.k.a Synaptic Plastic)! After spending (probably) too much moolah, we stopped by the mural wall to catch the last three murals in action! 🎨🖌️ You don't want to miss these amazing works of art, so make sure to come back and see the finished wall soon! ✨

We will be holding our closing reception September 6th, 12pm-8pm. Remember to mark your calendars for a night of fun, friendship, and most importantly, ART! See you there 🥰

Is it really a “Flashback Friday” if the event was only 2 weeks ago?⏱️

Thank you Blockfort Gallery for having me and “𝓓𝓪𝔀𝓷” for the opening night of “𝓟𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵 𝓟𝓪𝓷𝓪𝓬𝓮𝓪”! 🌈 Phillip and I had a blast reconnecting with friends Sophia and Jen, as well as seeing gorgeous work by our friends Karen and Lauren Ashleigh! Coincidentally, our outfits matched a lot of the paintings. 💃 I was also stunned by the beautiful mural outside of the bathrooms by Maya Pinz! 💡

Couldn’t make it to the opening? You’re in luck! “Personal Panacea” will be on view at Blockfort Gallery, in the main gallery off of N. 6th St, until August 30th. Stop by and connect with the beautiful artwork before their September show, “Muses: a Portrait Show”, is installed! 💁‍♀️
Thank you again to Blockfort for this wonderful opportunity! ❤️
