My Cake Escape

Haven’t posted any cakes in a while, so going to work on getting back in the habit! Here’s a fun one to start. Red velvet cake with strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream. The person who ordered this was so sweet and a joy to work with!

Many thanks to .bake.fest and for a great class this past weekend. I got the finishing touches put on this guy last night. Happy Halloween!

Fun learning palette knife flowers and color mixing at The Bake Fest. All these colors were mixed with just three gel colors (just like a color printer).

Super cute birthday cupcakes for a 2-year old who loves sports. White almond sour cream cupcakes with American buttercream and fondant decorations.

Made this Tower of London cake for my mom’s birthday a couple of weeks ago. Love you mom!

Here’s another fun cake from a couple weeks ago. This was for a 40th birthday party. The owl is chocolate cake. The bottom tier is vanilla. The crystals are edible, as is the planchette. Inspired by Celebrity Cake Studio and Shawna McGreevy of Cakeheads.

First year down! This one also had a field goal topper which I left for the client to place. Chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. Yum!

Had the privilege of donating this cake through for a 9-year old who loves short fat unicorns, rainbows, pink and anything that is different or unique. Lots of cake here along with some rice krispie treats for the legs, white chocolate eyeballs, sugar cookie rainbows and oreo truffle clouds.

This is the cake my son requested for his birthday. A mash up of Darth Vader and the N7 helmet from Mass Effect. The Darth Vader half was chocolate cake with white chocolate ganache, and the Mass Effect half was vanilla cake with chocolate ganache. We were both really pleased with how it turned out.
