We Walk for Chris. We Walk for Hope. 💛
In 2017, our lives changed in an instant when our husband and dad, WBNS-10TV Chief Meteorologist Chris Bradley, was unexpectedly diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

For 21 grueling months, we stood beside Chris through treatments, a bone marrow transplant, clinical trials and powerful medications. He faced every challenge with extraordinary courage, faith and determination. Chris had everything to live for. But blood cancer can be relentless, and in December 2018, we lost him at just 53 years old.

Yet Chris's story did not end there.

One of the drugs Chris received through a clinical trial went on to earn FDA approval as a targeted therapy. Today, that treatment is helping other patients with AML- giving people something Chris wanted so desperately: more time. More birthdays. More holidays. More ordinary days together with the people they love.

As a family, we promised Chris that something good would come from his diagnosis. That promise continues to guide us.

On October 8, Jason, Spencer and Maria will once again walk together as the Bradley-Krauss Family Team at Blood Cancer United's Columbus Light The Night. We walk in Chris's memory, but we also walk for every patient and every family facing a blood cancer diagnosis today.

Because cancer doesn't strike just one person. It strikes a family.

Since losing Chris, we have partnered with Blood Cancer United, formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, to help fund lifesaving research, support patients and families, and advocate for better access to care. Every breakthrough brings hope—and the possibility of more time together.
