After letting the dust settle for a week after the Rubén Castilla Herrera Birthday Celebration, we were able to calculate the total we were able to raise for the Fund for Immigration Legal Assistance: $3,155!!!

We started with what felt like an ambitious goal of $2,000 but quickly blew past that and set our eyes on a $3,000 goal and thanks to everyone who contributed through cash donations, Zelle, Venmo, checks, and through the FILA website, we met that goal as well 🥰

We just met some Haitians from Springfield who dropped by today and our hearts sunk. It's one thing to witness toxic xenophobia play out in news cycles, but sitting down face to face with the directly impacted community of course hits so much harder.
