These chairs were too orange for my daughter. 😅
A little acetone, a few repairs, and a darker finish completely changed the look. Now they finally feel like they belong together.
Now I need your opinion...keep the cushion covers or replace them? 🤔
I love my cats...but I don't love looking at the litter box and the other options were overpriced for fast furniture 😅
So I turned this curbside find into a hidden litter box cabinet.
A little cutting, stripping, and creativity later, it became one of my favorite upcycles.
Cat owners, tell me I'm not the only one who wanted to hide the litter box. 😂
I thought I knew exactly how this chair makeover was going to end... 😅
After all that stripping and revealing the wood underneath, I was convinced it was headed in one direction. Then my client had a different vision.
Honestly? It turned out pretty good.
What would you have done—stain or paint?
P.S. I forgot to put all of the PPE on each time I took a break to press record. Always remember to wear PPE and work with good ventilation when using chemicals 💝
There was a point in my furniture journey when I would've added paint to this without a second thought. 😅
The mismatched wood would've convinced me it wasn't worth restoring. I'm so glad I learned about toning.
Would you have painted it or tried to save the wood?

Most people would've painted right over these grooves. 😅
Instead, I filled them, sanded everything smooth, and gave this dresser a completely different look. Sometimes the details that make a piece feel dated are easier to fix than you think.
Would these grooves have scared you away?
We live and we learn. 😅
A few years ago, I would've looked at this piece and thought the paint was an improvement.
Now, all I can see is the beautiful wood that was hiding underneath.
Be honest...would you have stripped it or left it painted?
Orange oak isn't everyone's favorite...but that doesn't mean you have to paint it.
A simple paint wash can soften those orange tones while still letting the wood grain show through. That's exactly what I did on this console table.
Comment "WASH" and I'll send you my free paint wash guide.
Before you paint damaged furniture, take a closer look.
This tiger oak table had a damaged area that would've been easy to cover up with paint, but I wanted to see if I could save it first. A little repair work, color blending, and a topcoat later, it got a second chance.
Would you have painted it or repaired it?
These nightstands had water damage on the top, which meant the original plan had to change a little.
Instead of painting the entire piece, I repaired the damaged area, created a dipped finish on the top, and kept the oak visible everywhere else.
Honestly, I'm not mad about it.
What would you have done?
I had a completely different plan for this desk. 😅
My first choice would've been a stain finish, but this piece belonged to a client and they had their heart set on black.
After all the prep, repairs, paint, and new hardware...I have to admit, it turned out pretty good.
So let's settle it:
