A Tornado WATCH has been issued for all of East Central Alabama and West Central Georgia until 11:00PM EDT!

Main Hazards:
A few spin-up tornadoes are possible, isolated hail up to half-inch size, and scattered wind gusts up to 70 MPH in the stronger storms,

Flooding still remains the biggest threat, so be extremely careful on the roadways this evening.

BREAKING NEWS: The Columbus City Council has approved a temporary curfew ordinance for unsupervised minors in Uptown Columbus. The ordinance will take effect 10 days after Mayor Skip Henderson signs it and will remain in effect through September 30, 2026, unless extended by City Council.

The ordinance applies only to Uptown Columbus, which includes the area from 8th Street to 14th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bay Avenue.

Under the ordinance, individuals under the age of 18 may not remain in public places within Uptown Columbus between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or another adult with lawful authority to supervise them, or unless they fall within one of the ordinance's listed exceptions.

Fort Benning's Independence Celebration is coming up Saturday, June 27th from 4pm to 11pm at York Field! This year's event features live music from Gavin DeGraw, and the Plain White T's, plus the largest fireworks show in the Chattahoochee Valley! RADAR UPDATE: The line of severe storms continue to push southward. The strongest storms are located near Hamilton and are pushing through Smiths Station, eventually getting into Phenix City and Columbus. Looks like some small hail is possible in the storm located in Harris County.

The Severe Thunderstorm WARNING for Troup and northern Harris County has been extended further south to include the rest of Harris County, southern Meriwether County, and Muscogee County. This WARNING is in effect until 6:15PM EDT. Main hazards are wind gusts to 60 MPH, frequent lightning, and quarter-size hail is possible.

A Severe Thunderstorm WARNING has been issued for Lee, Macon, and northern Russell County in East Central Alabama until 5:45PM CDT. This includes Auburn, Hurtsboro, Opelika, Phenix City, and Smiths Station. Main hazards will be 60 mph wind gusts, quarter size hail, and dangerous lightning.
