Big Weekend in Columbus! We hope everyone has a damn good time celebrating! Be safe out there yall! We will be kicking the party off today at 2pm with BTC for the World Cup!! See all yall soon!

We certainly don’t wake up looking to chase trophies each day, we are more concerned with being exactly what this campus needs from us, by listening to the patrons who built us up brick by brick, and the staff who makes us great, day after day, but with doing that, luckily we still get to hear that we are doing an ok job every now and again, and we were PUMPED to make the list of Best Dive Bars in Columbus, by the dive bar experts at Scoundrel's Field Guide !! Not only were we over the moon to see ourselves on there, but we also had The Thirsty Scholar on there, and Zenos Victorian Village !! So fortunately this dive bar thing seems to be in our wheelhouse! OSU also had outrinn , Ruby’s on Summit , The Bier Stube , and Oldfield's North Fourth Tavern on the list of 30 best! So this campus is pretty much Dive Bar U 👑. Just to be mentioned along side so many legendary establishments like Ruckmoor Lounge , Byrne's Pub , oreillyspubcolumbus , Meister , Mike’s Grill, Betty’s, Johnnie’s Glenn Ave, and many more, is an absolute honor. We always take our staff to other Dives to show them who helped lay the foundation for bars in this town, and it really keeps us with a good perspective. If you’re looking for one hell of a follow for good ol hole in the wall Dive Bars, look no further than Scoundrel's Field Guide , you can almost smell every picture they post of Dives from all over, and they all feel like home. Thanks for thinking we were worthy of this list, we are absolutely flattered!

WHO’S READY FOR BTC WORLD CUP EDITION🇺🇸⚽️🇺🇸!!? This Friday we are opening at 2pm with $3 Pitchers, $3 Double Bacardi Buckets, $2 Surfside/ Super Lyte, and $1 Bombs to kick off our pregame party for the U.S. Soccer MNT !!! Match starts at 3pm, and we will be beating the s**t out of that clock until 6pm!! Patio Bar Open!! Gonna be one hell of a way to jump into the weekend, and we can’t wait to do it with y’all! It was 4 years ago today that we experienced the “Great Campus Blackout”, which is normally just what we call “Saturday”. All those years ago all of campus lost power, except 1 bar, TBDBarITL, and although we made another memory that lasted a lifetime with yall that night, it wasn’t about just the crowd, it was about what happened after we closed. Knowing that all the houses lost power, and it was hot as hell, The Bar of the People became a sanctuary for our staff, as we hosted the first Library Sleepover 🤣. It ain’t the Ritz, but when you’re a part of this staff, you are a part of our incredibly dysfunctional family, and we would do anything for our people, because they do everything for this bar. Cheers to those brave souls that added another page to the largest history book on campus that night 🫡

If you think about The Best Damn Country Night In The Land, you know where to be for Saturday’s Buckeye Country Superfest , so saddle up, dust off your drinkin boots, and get your crew to The Library before and after the concert, it’s gonna be a memory that will last a lifetime. Patio Bar open at Noon for the folks who want the fresh air, and A/C blasting inside for the folks trying to stay cool. See yall reallll soon!

Today we got to honor the life of James “Jim” Messner. Jim had deep roots on The Ohio State Campus, not only as an alumni, but as someone who literally helped lay the foundation for the bar scene itself, as he was the one who built the physical bars at The Oar House and Surf City, two iconic spots owned by his pal Dick Allen. Legend has it that you could always find Jim’s Audi Fox parked out front of The Library, and that’s how you knew a good time was waiting inside. That’s where you would find Jim in his stool at the end of the bar, or doing his duty, leaning against the Jukebox, to make sure it wasn’t falling over 😎, which is where he met his wife, Robin. The bars on this campus are made up of the people who make them great, we are just fortunate to have the longest run out of them all, to be a page in their history book. Our hearts go out to the Messner family and friends, as we remember a campus legend, and one hell of a guy ❤️

Today we honor all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms, and we honor the families of the fallen who continue to endure the loss of their loved ones. Thank you all for defending the freedom of this great nation 🇺🇸

Your campus bar community is always working behind the scenes, and in the off season to make your experience better, year in, and year out. At the end of the day, we are one campus, built up of many different bars, all wanting the same thing, to make memories that will last a lifetime. The goal is to make sure we provide that to you without a third party coming in to gouge the students to sell shirts, and using the bars as the product. We’ve got your backs, and we will never stop trying to come up with new s**t to make those memories that last a lifetime. Here’s to the future Buckeyes!! Your bars have your backs!!
