Today we recognize Juneteenth, a significant moment in our nation’s history marking the end of slavery in the United States.
In the Department of Dance at The Ohio State University, we value the many histories, traditions, and artistic contributions that shape our field. Dance offers a space to reflect, learn, and engage with the diverse influences that inform our teaching, research, and creative work.
We encourage our community to take time to learn, reflect, and appreciate the cultural legacies that continue to influence the arts.

Homing is an ongoing collaborative project by MFA Alumni Katherine G. Moore and Kathryn Nusa Logan that explores embodied relationships to landscape through sound, movement, and participatory performance. The exhibition brings together film, audio, and installation to document site-specific participatory audio projects developed across Ohio.

Today at Ohio State’s Department of Dance Summer Intensive, students took big steps toward their futures—both on and off the stage. From an application workshop led by Academic Program Coordinator Amy Schmidt to a dynamic BFA audition workshop with Dr. Nyama McCarthy-Brown and BFA alumna Liv Sexton, the day was all about growth, preparation, and confidence.
