Paws Humane Society- Reunite & Rescue

HERE’S WHAT LAST WEEK LOOKED LIKE AT PAWS.

Another busy week. Another 77 stray animals coming through our doors.

That’s 29 dogs and 48 cats who entered our care as strays in just seven days.

But there were plenty of wins to celebrate, too.
39 animals were adopted.
14 pets were reunited with their families.
27 animals left for rescue partners.
54 animals found foster homes.
And our clinic completed an incredible 170 spay/neuter surgeries.

Every number represents an animal—and behind every positive outcome is someone who helped make it happen.

The need continues to be great, but so does the impact we can make when our community shows up. See less

🚨 STRAY INTAKES 🚨

The dogs pictured are currently in our care as strays and are waiting for their families to find them.

These dogs are NOT available for adoption at this time. Our priority during their stray hold is getting them back where they belong—HOME.

Please take a close look at these faces. Even if you don't recognize a dog, SHARE THIS POST. Your share could be what puts one of these dogs in front of the person searching for them.

If you recognize one of these dogs or believe one may be yours, please contact or visit:

SEPTEMBER BY THE NUMBERS

September was an incredibly difficult month, but it was also a month filled with adoptions, reunifications, transports, fosters, and a community that stepped up when we needed you most.

374 animals entered our care in September.

That included:
🐾 194 dogs
🐾 180 cats

And of those 374 animals, 343 came to us as strays or animals found at large. That's 166 dogs and 177 cats who entered our care without their families.

But there were also so many animals who made it OUT.

210 animals were adopted.
64 were reunited with their families.
67 were transferred to rescue partners.
40 community cats were returned to field.

Altogether, 381 animals had live outcomes during September.

Behind every one of these numbers is an animal. A family who chose adoption. An owner who got their pet back. A foster who opened their home. A rescue partner who made room. A volunteer who gave their time. A staff member who kept going. And a community that shared, donated, advocated, and showed up.

September showed us just how quickly animals are continuing to enter our care—and how important every single positive outcome is.

🚨 MORE STRAY DOGS 🚨

We urgently need your help getting the lost dogs already in our care back where they belong: HOME.

The dogs pictured are currently on stray hold and are NOT available for adoption at this time. They may have families searching for them, and every reunion matters—especially while we remain at capacity.

LAST WEEK, BY THE NUMBERS.

Behind every number on this graphic is an animal who came through our doors—and a team and community working to find the best possible outcome for them.
Last week alone, 73 stray animals entered our care: 34 dogs and 39 cats.

At the same time:
55 animals were adopted.
19 lost pets were reunited with their families.
87 animals were placed into foster homes.
3 dogs were transferred to rescue partners.

We also received 9 owner-surrendered dogs, adding to an already significant number of animals entering our care.

These numbers show just how quickly animals are moving through our shelter every single day. While 55 adoptions and 19 reunifications are worth celebrating, 82 animals entered our care through stray intake and owner surrender in just one week.

That is why adoption matters. Foster matters. Reuniting lost pets with their families matters. Spaying and neutering matters. And sharing our posts matters.
We are incredibly grateful to every adopter, foster family, rescue partner, volunteer, donor, and community member helping us keep animals moving toward home.
But the need has not slowed down.

Please continue to adopt, foster, share lost pets, and help us create space for the animals who will need us next.

🚨 FIVE DOGS CAME INTO OUR CARE YESTERDAY. WE ARE STILL AT CAPACITY. 🚨

Five more dogs. Five more kennels needed. And today, more could arrive.
