After closely monitoring the weather all week and hoping for a change in the forecast, I have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s Summer Night Market.

This is never an easy decision, and honestly, it’s one of the hardest parts of hosting events. It absolutely breaks my heart because I know how much time and effort our vendors, food trucks, musicians, and guests put into preparing for these events.

The latest forecast is calling for storms beginning this afternoon and continuing throughout the evening, and the safety of our vendors, attendees, performers, and staff has to come first.

If you know me, you know I will do everything I can to make an event happen. Unfortunately, tonight’s weather is simply not something we can safely work around.

To our vendors: thank you for your understanding, support, and trust. You are the heart of Street Food Saturdays, and the relationships we’ve built over the years are what make these events so special. I value each and every one of you, and that commitment to our vendors and community is what sets Street Food Saturdays apart.

Thank you all for your continued support. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next event. ❤️

🚨 SIRENS NEVER SOUNDED 🚨

A tornado warning was issued for parts of Muscogee County Thursday evening, but many residents noticed something alarming — the outdoor warning sirens never activated.

According to local officials, a partial power outage disrupted critical communication systems, preventing the signal from being transmitted to activate the sirens.

Now, questions are being asked:

❓ Did you receive any alerts on your phone?
❓ Were you aware a tornado warning had been issued?
❓ Should there be a backup system in place to ensure sirens sound during emergencies?

Thankfully, no fatalities were reported, but many residents are wondering what could have happened if the storm had been stronger.

What are your thoughts, Tri-City? Should more safeguards be put in place to prevent this from happening again? ⬇️
