Sometimes the most powerful moments start on a blank page.
In Boys Brilliance, each participant designs their own journal on the first day—providing a tangible way to continue using what they’ve learned long after the program ends. Throughout the cohort, journaling becomes a tool to slow down, process experiences, and put thoughts into words.
With guidance from a licensed mental health professional, participants are encouraged to look inward—and challenged to share what they discover with the group. These moments build confidence, strengthen communication, and create space for honesty and growth. 🖤

Village Central members and Strong Families participants recently came together for an afternoon full of intergenerational connection, line dancing, food, raffles, laughter, and fun.
As one young adult shared while leaving the event: “I had so much fun dancing with my elders and spending time with them!”
Moments like these remind us of the power of bringing generations together and creating spaces where community, joy, and relationships can grow.

A huge thank you to Besa, our generous community partner, for donating more than 3,500 snack packs—representing thousands of dollars in support for Central Community House families, youth, and older adults. These snacks will help keep bellies full and spirits high all summer long. 💚

What does a safe space really look and feel like?
In Boys Brilliance, art helps guide that answer. From designing masks to expressing emotions through color, these young leaders used creativity to reflect, open up, and put words to what they’re feeling.
These moments sparked deeper conversations, built empathy, and strengthened trust—showing how creative expression can help young people feel seen, understood, and connected. 🖤

Our youth spent time practicing self-affirmations and building confidence from the inside out. Through encouraging words, positive reflection, and meaningful conversations, students were reminded of just how valuable and powerful they are.
Helping young people believe in themselves is one of the most important lessons we can teach. 🌟

Our recent Boys Brilliance cohort of 2026 brought together 15 young men who showed up for themselves and each other for six straight Saturdays. 💪🏾
Building on last year’s pilot, this cohort expanded to include a licensed mental health professional and more intentional, structured programming, all while keeping the arts at the core. Through creative expression and guided conversations, participants explored identity, emotions, and personal growth together.
Thank you to for supporting this cohort and investing in our young men. ✨
